1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Questions about Volks Yo SD?

Nov 21, 2005

    1. I have just seen the pics from the Volks LA opening and am interested in finding out about the little Yo SDs. What size are they, are they "gettable", anything and everything you can tell me would be appreciated.

      Thanks, Maria

    2. The Yo SDs are pretty small - about 10 inches, I think. (Can't remember off the top of my head, and I haven't got my little girl with me to measure!)

They're gettable, sure, but keep in mind they're limited, so that CAN make them a little more difficult to find. If you're totally open, and have no preference between Rengemaru, Suzuna, and Yuki, it gets easier, and if you don't care about open-eyed or sleepy-eyed, it gets easier still!

Most Yo SD I've seen on Y!Ja have gone for about $550-$600 (Varies, but that seems close to average). I got my darling girl from a fellow DoA member for less than that. Ask around, check auctions frequently, and they shouldn't be too hard to find. ^^

Good luck, though! If you get one, you'll never ever want to let the little thing go!

    3. I second what Spacemuffin says-- they are SO addicting.

      One of the best things about them is their size-- small enough to be quite portable, but large enough to not get lost so easily if you're a packrat like me @_@;

I am totally in love with my Shoshou, and he seems to be rapidly infecting the people he meets with Yo-SD fever..

    4. My Sophie is completely your Shoshou's fault. ^________________^

    5. Thanks all for the info. Perhaps I'll see one and be lucky :-) I have never done the Japanese auctions.

What I REALLY want is one of those little ones that are only give as gifts :-)

    6. If you decide to go the Japan auctions route, keep in mind there are several bidding services you can use. I've never used Rinkya myself, but their translation service can be useful when surfing auctions. I've heard good things about SMJ, and I have nothing but good to say about Celga - the service I use.

    7. they've been appearing on ebay alot reciently i got my sweet dreams rengemaru and suzuna on there in the last 2 months.. so you might be lucky if you dont like the Yahoo Japan way :) but if you see one on ebay with a Buy it now i would buy it (i've lost 2 waiting till later ><)
You could message jaewon08 on ebay he/she usualy has some avaliable :) its where i got my sweet dreams rengemaru from and he/she's easy to talk to :)
good luck on your hunt :D

    8. For the record, the little ones only given as gifts are Seitenshi.. they're smaller than Yo-SD and aren't jointed the same. Also, their wings are permanently attached, if I recall correctly. They're super limited, as they're only given as raffle prizes, and I've never seen one go for under $900

    9. Personally I am hoping the Volks will release more Yo SD in the future... they are absolutely adorable.

    10. Thanks to you I'm considering spending like half of my savings on one of those if i can find it O_o <3 soooo cute.

    11. Ok, so I just found that all YO-SDs are considered limited and you can only get them during a pre-order?!!! Is this true?? So even when I go to Japan this summer, you can't even buy them in one of their stores?

Any info would be really helpful, thanks!

    12. You can find Yo-SDs on Ebay and you can find them here in the marketplace. Volks Japan sometimes has Kuuta and Tinatsu for sale on their web page. I found mine here and on Ebay. I have Kuuta, Tinatsu and Yo Tenshi Yuki. I love them all.

    13. I bought my Tinatsu from a DoA Marketplace seller.

      Sabrina :kitty2

    14. LabRat, they are about the old Leeke size. They are a really sweet size and very nice body. I just sold my Tinatsu, in the hopes of getting a YO at NY Dolpa, where they will offer the Four Sisters.

    15. The yo four sisters are incredible!! They're what made me start looking into YO-SDs :aheartbea

Are they acually selling them at the NY Dolpa??? (not that I'd be able to go anyway, but I thought they were just letting you enter a draw and then they'd email you after the Dolpa to let you know if you're able to pre-order or not?) :?

    16. No, what happens is you have to physically put your name in for the doll, then they post who has won. They take your information and send you the doll. At least that is what they have done the past two years. I would be thrilled if they were selling them there, but that would be a great deal of work for them. You do find out that day however if you have won.
