1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Re-cast scammer on Ebay?

Sep 30, 2014

    1. Hi, don't think this is in the right place but i can't find anywhere better, i purchased a Littlefee Ante in white skin from a UK Ebay seller about a year ago, when i had to re-sell it she turned out to be a genuine faceplate on a re-cast body. I had to let the buyer have a full refund and i let her keep the doll as i didn't want it back.

She's now selling Minifee bodies and a seperate head on Ebay but she's keeping the box as "my doll needs it", i asked her to clarify this as it doesn't seem necessary for a head to keep a huge box and i got a really rude response back, they may be perfectly genuine bodies but i don't want anyone else to get caught out like i did...

    2. Do you have a personal blog or a tumbler? It might be helpful to post the full story there along with the name of the scammer. I read about how there is such a thing as "honor among thieves" and some recast supporters it s against their morals to Sell a recast doll as genuine.

In short go public and report it to ebay.

    3. Yeah i've reported it to Ebay, i don't have a blog or anything like that though, i sent her a bit of a stroppy message back as i didn't think it was necessary to be so rude, i think they are probably ok to be honest but i wouldn't take the chance myself, i don't think its unreasonable to ask questions when you are considering spending a fair sum of money (and these are a few pounds more expensive than buying from fairyland) maybe it does seem offensive to ask for proof something isn't a re-cast but if its genuine it shouldn't be a problem (even if its only a photo of the box and certificate, or original fairyland invoice)
