1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Realistic looking Mini?

Feb 7, 2010

    1. Which MSDs do you think are most realistic looking? I really love realistic, human looking dolls. I've found some general discussion and SD specific discussion, but nothing for MSDs. I'd really love to hear all of your thoughts.

    2. I completely agree with Raesha that Lan has a realistic styled head and proportions. She's also a beautiful doll IRL, the company photos are a bit lacking as usual :).

Other semi realistic looking dolls might be Iplehouse JID which aren't perfectly realistic, but closer and Lati Blue boys are realistic looking to me. Soom Mini Gem dolls seem somewhat in proportion.

I'm sure there are many others I'm not familiar with, and these may not be realistic enough for you. Dollmore makes a fashion model style BJD. Unfortunately those dolls are off topic here because of aesthetics. They're lovely, but the DOA moderators have to draw a line somewhere I guess, as the forum is already quite a maze of dolls! So they try to stick with resin only, etc... with the asian aesthetics, which is where they've been judged different.

    3. You also have Orientdoll sculpts, who also have very realistic proportions, but are on-topic here.

    4. Wow, those dolls are very cute, but are they really only 40cm? That's a bummer :(

    5. Wow, those are some gorgeous dolls. Thanks for the recs. I adore the SOOM dolls. WOW.

    6. One thing to note about the Soom dolls - they are TINY. They are more Barbie size than BJD size, despite the inches, just so you're aware.

    7. Narae and Narin are quite realistic.

So are Supia Yan and Yisol.

Sleetwealth Briar is 38cm-- I always wondered how she'd look with those Orientdoll guys?

AIL has a realistic child proportioned mini

bambicrony has a fairly realistic girl child limited

dollstown 5 and 7 year bodies are realistic child dolls in mini size
      http://dollstown.com/englishorder.htm
Limhwa Limho and ForYou are fairly realistic slim minis

and Unoa are a lot like Narae, but a bit of work to get-- search around and I'm sure you can find info.
      Good luck!

    8. I find the Iplehouse JID girls very realistic. They even have more realistic, womanly proportions than most MSD dolls. The boy JID's have very realistic bodies but not heads.

Here's my Iplehouse I. I think she has a very natural, unaffected realism to her.

    9. I love threads like this because it gets me looking at things I haven't looked at before ;)

I also hate threads like this because they get me wanting all kinds of new dolls, LOL

    10. I think Dollmore Ciels are quite realistic, with the right faceup they can look really cute!
And I think faceshapewise they're more realistic and less pointy/anime style than some molds.
