Reptiles?

I want an alligator BJD ;_;

 

The closest I've seen is the Volks SDC Kurt, which is a frog boy. When I found out he was a frog boy I had to get him, as I adore frogs.

I was thinking just the other day how a little gecko or some sort of lizard would be a cool anthro bjd in the Baha size range. But with the amount of stuff I am taking on at the moment I don't know when I will get the chance to sit down and work on sculpting something like that.. I really want to though!!

 

I'm working on drawing up plans for a BJD tarantula. It wouldn't be on topic for this forum though, because it's kind of hard to make a spider "anthro." However, I would love to make one with ball joints and still have it as anatomically correct as possible. Even the little spinnerets would have joints. It is a massive project, and I've barely got sketches mapped out that show how the stringing would work. Imagine trying to joint 8 legs, 2 pedipalps, fangs, and the body. Of course all the parts would have to have multiple joints.

I definitely think reptiles are more within the possible scope of actual creation. Imagine a working/snapping alligator head on a pipos style body. A turtle like in Over the Hedge... Or maybe the Sobe dancing lizards from the Superbowl 2008 commercial.

An in scale dragon for 1/3 dolls would be so massive... Imagine having to create let alone string and wire the wings on the beast. It would be more of a working model or giant prop for a doll than an anthro doll.

A scaled or feathered human body would be very cool though! I love how Soom has pushed the limits between human and fantasy with their new finny merman. MMMMmmmm...

 

dragons would be cool and something i would probably feel a strong need to get! although not a reptile i would love a bat bjd.

 

I would SO get a Gecko. And then I would make him re-enact my favorite Geico commercials.

But seriously, the whole cute kitty/bunny thing never really caught on to me. I would LOVE some scaly critters thrown in there. :'D

reptiles suck. they eat my rodents ;P lol a turtle bjd would be so charming, id love to see someone do that! maybe it could be marketed/sold as a doll accessory

I gave up on waiting to buy an alligator BJD - I'm making my own! For reals.
I drew some sketches, did some research, and played around with some sculpy to see if I was any good. I did a really rough head, 20 minutes, but the shape and anatomy of it, I'm pretty happy with :3 I'll spend hours and hours on the real thing, of course.
He'll have a moving jaw, and a big head (~3" long), and a long tail, but will have a short body (doll total ~14cm, 5-6")
Of course I'll post pics here when I'm done!

 

OMG, I'm like so new, excuse me, but that turtle is SO awesome!

 

I would like to see an alligator one. there is that cute plastic frog doll, a frog will probably be the first made I think.
