resin bodies that look like dollfie dream II

Jan 3, 2009

    1. hello,
I have two dollfie dream II bodies nad i love their curves and two part body, but i don't love the fact that they aren't resin, so i'm selling them..
I really like them so my question is are there bodies that look like dollfie dream II bodies but that are resin?
they don't have to be excactly the same but close is good too.
please provide links if you can as i don't know all the companies out there and their websites.
i hope someone can help me, if they are in the same price categorie that would be super but not nessecary...

      thank you
      lamira

    2. To my mind, the only one that comes close to that kind of curviness and aesthetic is the Unoa Zero. Unfortunately she's very difficult to obtain.

    3. Honestly, I can't think of a single resin girl body that really looks like a Dollfie Dream. If there was such I thing, I'd have one. Not that I don't like the vinyl body my girl has but it would just be nice if she were made completely out of one material since she's a hybrid. :/

    4. I think that the company that makes Dollfie Dreams also has a very similar doll in resin form: the Volks SD16 girls. Their outfits fit each other, so I assume that the proportions and shape are vastly similar.

    5. DDII to SD16 could be a suitable swap but it wouldn't be a perfect replacement. I have seen the DDII and SD16 side by side at meet-ups and they leave me with very different impressions. The SD16 has body lines are similar to a fashion doll so she's tall and curvy but she's also "harder" looking and more angular. The Dollfie Dream has an exaggerated va-voom figure - nothing but curves. Like the difference between a supermodel and a pin-up girl.

The Japanese group called Rocket Corgi has made some nice resin parts (or maybe they've made a whole body now?) that are meant to be put together with Volks pieces to make a curvier SD10 or SD13 girl. I haven't translated any of the newest site updates so I'm not sure how RC is selling their stuff. I'm not sure about pricing either.

There's also the Aoi Tuki girl body. They have a very impressive figure but the knees jointing isn't pretty. I think they only sell dolls on Y!J.

Other than that you's have to start looking at all of the other girl dolls to see if any are curvy enough for you. Delf girls are curvy but very petite, Supia girls look curvy in pictures but are waif-like in person, Elfdoll girls are known for their curves but they still don't look like DDII. :sweat

    6. I second this. I have a Dollstown head on an Aoi-tuki body. She is very tall and statuesque, compared to the DD body. Her bust is rather small compared to her hips, unlike the DDII body, which is hour-glass shaped. The Luts/CP mature body is closer to the size of DDII, except the waist is larger. I also would love a DD resin body.

    7. thanks for the advice everyone!
aoi-tuki is kinda hard and difficult to get and i really don't like those knee joints.
I really like the delf girl body with the higher torso joint, they come in big bust and small bust, they are curvy, but still chubby if you see them next to an dd (i saw a comparison pic somewere) lol.but i my opinion the next best thing for two part curvy girls
I will wait till domuya comes out with their new bodies as i have an 50% off coupon and hope that i really love them.I have two domuya perrinial dolls and i really like those bodies too, but they are too big to have more of them.
But i guess i would go for the delf bodies if they are not what i hope.
oh i also love the dollndoll 55 cm bodies but they are really small, so i guess that's a no go then...

      thanks for all the help!

    8. Muse doll is very nice

    9. I agree with Eliz-Rivenstar - the Musedoll body is very very similar in look - shape and slenderness - to the DD2 body. :)

    10. What's wrong with the DD not being resin? Is there a particular reason that resin bodies are better?

    11. There is actually. Resin doesn't stain as easily for one, plus its heavier and more dense. Just a nicer material than vinyl and hard plastic. Doesn't wear as easily. You also don't have issues with the internal skeleton breaking on a resin doll since they don't have them.

    12. I guess this is all mostly personal preference :sweat I'm sure there's a discussion for this somewhere. I personaly would just stick with the vinyl body and coat it with MSC to prevent staining, since I hear it works wonders.

Back to topic, if you like the DD body, then why not just stick with it? I haven't seen ANY resin dolls that have the nice curves and feminine figure of the DD other than an Obitsu 60cm (minus those horrid arms), which of course, is vinyl as well, so that's a lose lose in your case. But if vinyl is such a bad thing for your doll, then you may just have to compromise on a resin body that is not as nicely shsped.

    13. well i like the delf girls very much.so i'm tempting on them.
i'm still waiting for the flexi 2 bodies to come out as i like the flexi part and i hope they will have more the looks of the perrinnial bodys wich are very pretty as well.
i sold one DD II body and i'm keeping one body for sentimental reasons lol, but i prefer resin dolls as they are sturdier, don't stain as easy and most of all i like the joints more and the fact that here is elastic in them.

musedoll is also very pretty and of course the supia body and i also like the super gem body.
i'm still thinking before i actually will order a body, but i really got some good advice here for bodies i could buy.

    14. Looking at this comparison between the Rocket Corgi body and the DD, I would absolutely recommend trying the Rocket Corgi!!

    15. Oooh! Nice! Thanks for posting that...there are such cute outfits available for DD!

    16. necroing to say i think the Dollmore body looks a lot like my own DDII body. if i were to get a girl, i'd definitely want her to be on that one!

    17. I've just looked around Rocket Corgi's site and I really like their DD-like bodies!! I'd definatly buy a pureskinned one but their pricing is confusing. One picture goes to 16,000 yen (around 162$) or 28,000 yen (around 284$).*_* Maybe they have different sizes?
If anyone could read the site please share what it says!! Or cresent shop can give it a go.:)

    18. Rocket Corgi makes a DD-esque torso AND DD-esque legs. You can buy them seperately or you can buy together. That's the difference in prices.

I have both. For anyone interested, the torso looks great! Extremely nice quality considering its an artist-cast option part. The legs are quite disappointing though, I wouldn't recommend them. I was shocked by the difference in quality between the legs and torso.
