Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. Roleplaying as or with your Doll?

    1. Since it seems a fair amount of us own dolls based on characters or make characters with your dolls, do you ever roleplay with them or as them (in a Text based land either on a forum like this or through an instant messenger)?

      Being new, I know my first doll is going to be a Roleplay character of mine I've had in my head for a while. My second doll will be a roleplay character I've written about for more then 5 years.

      I'm just wondering if anyone else on here roleplays?

    2. I do! Mostly on IM with my sister and best friend, but several of my dolls are also on Facebook. It's all text/free form rp.

    3. My newest doll is based on a roleplay character of mine~ Occasionally I write about her too. (Two of my others came from characters I created in Rock Band haha)

    5. Most of my dolls' characters come from RPland! :sweat Though, with many, I adapted them into their own stories so they could exist without the support or need of someone else's character. The reason is I want a doll who I can develop completely -- both in looks, accessories, and in story. So part of the fun of buying a new doll for me is making a new story for them to fit into.

    6. Some of mine came from role-playing and so I role-play with them. I usually have them interact with text or photos. My characters actually go along with sailorsamus' and we have them interact through tumblr or various other ways such as picture swaps. It's fun to get in character :)

    7. Guilty as charged! All of my dolls are characters I roleplay with my best friend who is also in the hobby. They all live in a constantly developing and evolving world which is really exciting in my opinion~ c: it makes it so worth it to put all the dolls together to photograph them afterwards!

    8. The doll I'm currently saving for is gonna be a roleplay character of mine! I played her on Facebook for a while and I'm very happy to have found a "dollshell" right for her.
      I have other dolls (mainly not BJD) but they all developed "personality" on their owns, so I never used a doll to roleplay, even if it was one of my main hobbies for years. I played in lands, with rule sistems (like Dungeons and Dragons and Vampires) and freely on social networks or chatroom with friends.

    9. My first doll was based on a RP character of mine. My two newest ones are having RP characters developed for them. I love roleplaying so of course my dolls are part of that hobby as well.

The majority of my crew are resin avatars for favorite, old-school paper-and-weird-dice tabletop RPG characters (Like D&D or Exalted-) or role-played MMO toons... so, I guess you could say I've role-played my dolls. 'Just not in the way most people here would think of when you mentioned "dolly RP". :lol:

    12. I RP with all of my dolls. Most of them at this point are actually a product of RP that I have with my friends. I love RPing them even before they're shelled because it gives me an opportunity to create them in an evolving environment that isn't just solely under my control. It makes them feel so much more fleshed out when I finally get them in resin form. Rping dolls is probably one of my favorite aspects about the hobby, and I'm really lucky to have found a group of people over the years to write with!

    13. I'm sort of astonished there isn't a roleplay subboard for us to rp together. I'd love to get to know some of you better by being able to rp with you guys. Though if anyone wants to talk about rping together I'm always up for starting something!

    18. some of my dolls are based on original characters of my own story, so I role-play with them sometimes. but only in a text based land on my secret blog, so my role-playing is amount to monologue.:sweat

    19. I would love to role-play as my dolls! I just don't know of any RPGs that would accept an angel, a demon, and a fairy doll. If someone could recommend some to me, that would be awesome~

    20. I tend to just message people or find friends. I do have a 'free for all' rp what you feel like forum but I don't think I can link it here. You can pm me if you'd like the link though. WE DON'T SELL ANYTHING! It's only for roleplaying purposes.
