Sculpts You Get For Your Twins

Oct 29, 2011

    1. Just curious what type of scupts comprises of your twins, like identical sculpts, identical sculpts with modifications, different sculpts from same company or different sculpts from different companies.
I am planning to make Iplehouse Vito and Amy my girl-boy twins since their blank faces look kinda similar. I think they will work wonderfully with the right face up.
Share the reasons behoind getting those sculpts for your beloved twins:lol:!

Mods, please delete if this thread is off topic or a duplicate. I searched "twins' but can't find anything similar in all 12 pages, but I might be blind~

    2. I have an AiL Bertram and Elijah who are twins, and planning Planetdoll Riz and Roseanne twins :) The family resemblance is strong enough, but I like the subtle differences between the sculpts.

    3. I have the same sculpt for Piper and Prudence, just with different face ups, they look enough the same and yet individual enough that it works perfectly

    4. I have a set of twins with the same sculpt (Blue Fairy TF Jasmine). They differ in their style of dress and length of hair--Edwina usually has a short wig, Sabrina a long one. Their eyes are the same type and color, but I position them differently.

    5. I have two pairs of twins, each with the same sculpt: Minawadou Saiki heads on Volks bodies (one boy, one girl), and two old Customhouse Bins (both boys). I think of both sets of twins as fraternal instead of identical--they have different eye and hair colors, and considerably different faceups.

I set out to make my Saiki heads twins in the first place, because I thought the head was so versatile, and I wanted to see how it would work as both male and female. Actually, they've morphed into older sister/younger brother over time, instead of being same-age twins--Neechan just looks more mature than 'touto-kun does, and right now she's on an SD16 girl body, which cements the age difference. (I may switch her back to an SD13 girl body, though--they're easier to dress.)

The Bin pair was more of an accident--I just happened to luck into a second early CH Bin recently, and so he became his brother's long-lost twin by default instead of by plan.

    6. My identical set are the same sculpt (DZ X), just different resin colours (one NS, one WS). The fraternal twins are from two different companies, but do look somewhat alike (one is a NS AA Er, the other is a NS Luts Wintery '08 hybrid). The identical twins have the same colours of eyes and hair, but the fraternal set's are completely different. I use different weird/unusual eyes on them because it fits their styles, and one has a short black wig, while the other has a longer silver/black mixed wig.

The identical ones were more or less an excuse for me to get more than one of the same sculpt, but they've developed into fairly distinct characters. The other set was created by me and a friend who decided that my boy needed a brother. (The brother was initially hers, but I ended up becoming the owner of the other half of the set after she died.)

    7. I have plans for a DiM Sleeping Bellose and a DiM Sleeping Kassia to be made into my future male twins. I adore their sculpts and although I also have plans to own their open eyed versions (already have Bellose), those two won't be related.

Sometimes I like to imagine what sculpts I'd choose for my twin girls as well and I'm fairly certain I'd also like them to be from the same company just to ensure the stylistic quality is the same, but I have a rule of not buying two of the exact same sculpts so I've yet to find any that quite catch my fancy. I am rather enamored with DiM sculpts though so I am always watching to see what new sculpts they come out with.

    8. I have a Feeple Chloe and a Minifee Chloe who are twins but from a different universe *look* Anyway if I really wanted identical twins, then I would take the same mold but with a very different makeup, same but individual at the same time.

    9. I have an Iplehouse tan Soo Ri v1 and a tan Gentle Soo Ri v2, who look totally different from each other in eyes & faceup, yet are still the same sculpt... they're half-brothers, not twins, but I guess the excuse is they both really look like their mother. ^^

My twin imps are just 2 different-colored editions of DD-Anne's Lotus Near. One is the good imp (light tan, wears white nailpolish) and one is the bad imp (cream white, wears black nailpolish).

I do have 2 other sets of twin sculpts, because I love both editions of all the Volks Tokyo Boys (Shiro v.1 & v.2, Isao v.1. & v.2)... but they're not twin characters at all. I guess they just happen to look uncannily alike each other. Lots of those Volks teenaged-cutie boy sculpts look alike each other, so it's all in the service of visual harmony on the shelves. :D

    10. Originally, before I got my Minifee Woosoo, Kief, I wanted to make Minifee Woosoo girl/boy twins, considering that Fairyland has three Woosoo sculpts. I was going to get a combination of two of the three. Though, honestly, now, considering that I do have a Woosoo who is an actual character of mine, I don't think I'll do the twins.

If I were to make some twins though, I might consider making a Luka/Rheia Minifee twin set, since I do think they look similar. If I were to do boy/girl or girl/girl or even boy/boy, I have no idea. I might not even do it, but I think that they look similar enough to consider it.

I might even consider doing Minifee Marcia twins, girl boy, one Normal and one dreaming.

Can ya tell I like mnfs?

Though honestly, for the most part (this definitely doesn't apply to all companies), you should be able to find a decent set since most companies, their sculptors, they do have similarities. It's hard to change your style. So I am sure you might be able to find similar looking sculpts within one company. At least relations.

    11. My twins are a customhouse Yeondu and Yeonu. They are pretty much identical(sculpt-wise), I figure that customhouse decided the face sculpt suited both male and female so released it on both body types. The default face-ups are very different - the female is light and rosy and the male is darker with more neutral brown tones.

    12. I have four sets of twins over here...

Harumatsu & Tien Jen and Julian & Ashley are pairs of near-but-not-quite-identical sculpts. They're an Open-eyed & Dreaming CP/Delf Shiwoo pair, and a set of Open-eyed and Sleeping CP/Delf Bloody Valentine Breakaways. Harumatsu and Tien Jen also have a younger sister, Chidori. She's a CP/Delf Miyu.

Koza & Kiji and Akirra & Kadai are well-matched, but non-identical, sculpts that came from the same company. They're a MNF Elf Shiwoo & Elf Shushu, and a CP/Delf Dambi & If.

I used to own two other twin pairs... Kita & Tsuki, who were a set of CP/Delf Elf Chiwoos (One open-eyed, one Dreaming) and Min & Ming (MNF Shushu & Shiwoo)... but they've long-since gone on to other homes.

The most important thing to me when building twin pairs (or any sibling/family group, for that matter-) is how the sculpts look together. Does the scale and style match? Are the features similar enough that the two actually do look related to each other? If I could find two from different companies that met those criteria, that would work just as well for me as two dolls from the same company... but so far I've only ended up with twins that came from the same source.

    13. I have two Els who are twins, and am planning two more, who are unrelated but are the same species so resemble each other >mumble< or something.
I chose Els because they're my favourite sculpt, and also because it's such a versatile sculpt. You can have a whole group of Els and they can look totally different from one another because of different faceups, eyes, wigs, clothes, etc. An El can pull off so many different looks. Plus they are adorable :D Another reason El is a good sculpt for multiples is that there are loads of them! There's always at least one El in the MP!

    14. Let's see. I have a total of four Shushus (two normal, two elf). One set of normal and elf, while they aren't twins, you could say the elf one is a different aspect of the normal one. I have a pair of Crobidoll Lances who are identical twins, a set of Soom Chalcos who are likewise. I own half of a pair of twins, one is a modded SchA and the other is an F-16.

    15. You sound like me with my Breakaways... XD

    16. Whilst not ownin a pair, i own 2 dolls who are twins (with my sister's dolls)...if you get what I mean ^^;

One is CP Yder- I have the normal one whilst my sister has the dreaming ver (even if she has modded the eyes open). We only consider them twins because they are the same sculpt and came home on the same day, but you can tell they are more individual than alike.

The other are a pair of Doll-Love Enen/Ann (whatever name it says on the website)- we have one each and they are intended to be twins and do look like twins, but they're different enough as they wear different eyes/wigs and have different styles of clothing. (my boy wears normal boy clothin, my sister's boy is a little cross-dresser and will only wear clothes he consider "cute")

    17. I have mini dollfie dream fraternal twins. They look close enough to be believable as siblings. Vanessa is the elder, and Emmi is the younger.

    18. My GF and I have two sets of twins.

The fraternal twins are from Volks, a Michele (mine) and Kanata (hers) named Lafayette and Dorian. Other than both being from Volks with default faceups, black hair and brown eyes they look nothing alike. Their mother is an SD16 F36 and they both have some resemblance to her to bring them closer together.

The other are both LLT Rodderichs, Lothaire (mine) has his eyes slightly modded open while Kyros (hers) is unmodded. Someday when their Dollshe bodies ship (:vein) they will have similar faceups with black hair and icy green eyes.

    19. My eventual fairy twins (boy and girl) are going to be a Doll-Chateau Hugh and Bella, who I swear were sculpted to be twins anyway, in fact they were meant to be older and younger siblings until I realized they look too similar for that.

More with DC (darn DC making me buy twice as many dolls as I should be) I plan on one day getting their siamese twin body and buying two Doll-Leaves R heads for that, and modding one slightly (because I'd feel way weird about having the same face on two dolls). I'll probably open the eyes and mouth a little on the modded head, so that they'll still have the same face but look different.

    20. I have twins. One set is a Cutie Delf Cory OE and sleeping. They're fraternal twins, along with my Minifee Chloe and Juri heads. I'm planning a set of identical twins, Minifee Seorins.
