1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Selling an item as a fullset when its not a fullset?

Mar 24, 2013

    1. I have a friend that is selling a doll, saying its a fullset when she is missing a piece. Would you still call this a fullset? I feel that if your doll is not whole as when you bought it then its not a fullset. She's like its basically a fullset, but didn't post on her selling page that its missing a piece.

    2. It's more like a partial full set. The missing piece should be listed as "missing"

    3. I agree, I would be upset if I purchased a fullset but it was missing pieces. It should be listed as partial fullset or Fullset outfit missing pieces. Somewhere it should be stated that pieces are missing from the fullset.

    4. I agree too, a Fullset implies that everything that came in the original set is included in the sale. A missing piece would make it an "Incomplete" or "Near" Fullset. I would be contacting a seller so fast if I thought I was paying for all the pieces and found a piece missing that was not disclosed. I'd want a partial refund, the size of which would vary depending on the piece: a skinny belt ($20 refund*), pants ($45-$55*) or shoes/wig ($60-$150 refund*).

*refunds are guesstamations partially based on some of the Volks Fullsets I've bought and/or split with others

    5. I'm just seconding what everyone else said already. It's pretty fraudulent to claim you're selling somethng when you're not. When a set is missing something, this should be noted in the sales description and the price should be reduced accordingly. You can still say it was a fullset, but with something missing/is incomplete. When someone buys a fullset, they expect, well, a full set. ^^; So you have to say upfront what's missing to not be fraudulent. ^^; And of course the price has to be lowered since you're not selling all the items of the set. ^^

    6. I'd be real pissed if I bought something claiming a fullset then not having a piece especially if it was possibly an important piece.

    7. I've sold fullsets that are missing pieces, but I always make sure to mark it as "partial fullset" or "piece missing". If the buyer knows it's missing, it shouldn't be an issue. But if the buyer expects the whole thing, then finds part is missing, they could easily claim "item not received" or "item not as described", because it IS fraudulent to claim it's a full set when it's not. If I were the buyer, I'd first ask the seller where the rest of it was (after being sure I had screencaps of the "fullset" claim, of course). If she wasn't willing to give me a partial refund or send the missing piece, I'd have to file a claim with PayPal and leave negative feedback. I wouldn't want it to come to that, but I wouldn't pay money for an item I didn't receive! There's also the possibility that if the buyer claims it as "item not received", Paypal COULD rule in their favor and refund them AND let them keep the rest of the set. You're really better off being honest from the start, there will be many fewer problems that way.

    8. It saves both seller and buyer a lot of time and energy (and probably money) to be honest at the outset. If the missing piece is only a small part of the fullset (a sock or something), the price won't be down by much and the buyer is still getting the vast majority of the set.
