Shoes - how many pairs do your dolls have?

1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have? (Please separate different size dolls/dolls who don't share shoes.) I have 11 (i think ^^ dolls, and only one of them has a single of them have shoes!

2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits? Not even close to as important, considering they don't have any for the most part

Now I'm proud. I mean, I have bought 3 to 5 wigs per doll, and two of my dolls aren't complete/haven't arrived yet, so I consider myself really decadent. BUT though I am a shoe addict, I have been able to stick to my principles so far and have not bought any shoes that don't fit my characters historically. And there are just about none available that look right from a historical point of view.

So: the one doll that I have at home has two pairs of shoes - one that was included in his full set, and one that I have made myself. I have no idea how many pairs I'll end up making for everyone - it's going to depend on what I can pull of...

1 male 70+, 2 SD males (the same body type) and 1 SD female. I count only human dolls, as my anthros do not wear shoes.
So, there are 4 pairs for 70+, 5 pairs for SD male and 5 pairs for SD female.
2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?
The shoes are as important as clothing – I believe my dolls should have both. They have more outfits than shoes though, I combine things often.
3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?
When I change their outfits or more seldom.
4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?
It greatly depends on the doll's character and style. I just can't generalize.
My characters, inresinated in dolls, are usual people, so they have one pair of shoes, one pair of boots, one sandals or similar each, plus a certain shoes for cosplay/themed outfits. I plan to make more shoes for them.

#5 is not applicable as I still own my 1[SUP]st[/SUP] doll.

55-60cm: 2 dolls
~40cm: 4 dolls
25cm: 2 dolls
11cm: 2 dolls

Total pairs of shoes= 45+ and none of them share!!!

Equally as important if not slightly more!! A crap pair of shoes can cheapen a really nice looking outfit - but a really awsome pair of shoes will drastically improve a crap outfit!!

3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?
Each time I re-pose them on their stands.... except for a few of them who's shoes are an integral part of their "characters"

Shoes are vital. They can make or break the outfit. I have 27 pair of shoes for the girls, and 16 pair for the boys. Total: 33

I change their clothes about once a month, sometimes more sometimes less, depending on things going on in my life. When I change their clothes, I change their shoes.

At a minimum: for girls, at least one pair of feminine shoes, one pair of good boots, and one pair of casual canvas tennies.
For boys, at least one pair of good boots, and one pair of canvas tennies.
Once the minimum has been acheived, go crazy and get as many as you like!

5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have?
I know she had several, but I probably sold most of them as my taste in shoes changed.

It depends on what he is wearing at that moment.IF he's going in some beach wear then of course no way I am going to let him wear a pair of long boots,right?

A pair of long boots,short boots,formal shoe,sneakers and sandals will do the job already!

I'm going to preface this with the fact that I, myself, am a shoeaholic, so this was merely a natural progression for me...

I can't list them all, I'd be here all day, but on average, they have 3 or 4 pairs each. Some have more than others however, Trystan, my MNF Shiwoo, probably has 20 or so pairs, Orly, my Lishe boy, probably has 10 or so pairs, a lot of the less fussy ones share 3 or 4 pairs between themselves.

Rough guestimate all together, without actually doing a count, probably 150ish pairs all in.

VERY. There is no point in my spending hours of seamstressing time on an outfit to have the shoes let down the overall look when I go to shoot it is there!
There are many pairs that go with many outfits, and then special pairs that only go with one or two outfits.

Depending on the doll, I change their clothes and shoes anywhere from daily to monthly.

4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?
As many as the owner wants?

My dolls and their sizes are listed in my profile if anyone cares that much. All the big girls share shoes, and most of the big guys do as well, except for the EID. The minis wear the same size, as do the little ones and the tiny dolls. I have no idea how many pairs of shoes I have for them, but the tiny dolls have tons, as most of them can wear Kelly or Barbie shoes, and the big dolls have a lot less. The EID only has one pair; his default boots, as I bought him fullset.

I love shoes and boots. Often, I buy the shoes first, and find outfits to go with them afterward.

Depends on which doll it is and how often I like to change their clothes. Some dolls have a lot, and some only one pair.

Let me put it this way; 0 clothes, 9 pairs of shoes.

Just whenever I feel like it or when I change their outfit to something that requires a different color/style of shoe. Sneakers may be fine for jeans and a tee, but they hardly go well with a lolita-dress. That's when I break out the pastel colored mary-janes.

Ideally for my own collection, I'd like each doll to have a pair of shoes that covers the whole color range spectrum and a few types of shoe.

One and I hated it! I got my first two dolls at the same time, so I had two dolls and two pairs of shoes, one for each. Also one outfit each and I didn't like that, either.

I prefer to buy him clothes rather than shoes, but they must suit his shoes.

Not very often. He is always wearing his trainers because they suit with almost every outfit he has.

3 pairs: a pair of elegant shoes, a pair of boots and a pair of trainers.

1 Yo Boy - 1 pair (sometimes also shares the girls' pair of sneakers)

My dolls definately have more outfits than shoes. Luckily the styles/colors of the outfits are mostly similar enough that one pair of shoes works for a number of different outfits.

3. How often do you change your doll's shoes? Not very often for most dolls; never for a few of them. Even the girls who have more than one pair usually end up wearing the same pair all the time. If they happen to be wearing an outfit that doesn't match any of their shoes they just go barefoot (a few of them seem to prefer it anyway lol).

4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have? I think if I could afford it, I'd like each outfit for each doll to have its own pair of shoes. XD More realistically, I'd eventually like one pair of casual & one pair of dressy type shoes per doll. I doubt it'll ever happen though, as I'm much more interested in clothing than shoes. Even for myself I'm like that (I basically live in flip flops & ballet flats; I'm just not really a shoe girl).

5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have? She did (and still often does lol) go barefoot for many months after I got her. Eventually she got one pair of shoes & one pair of boots. It's still that way today.

I tend to have shoes that go with any outfit (most of my shoes were gifts from an American dollmaking company whose name i can't recall right now)

Almost never...Only when i have an outfit that absolutely won't work with the default shoes!

I'm not sure...It really depends on the type of doll and what you are planning on doing with him/her.

Well, no, but I have too many to count. 5 big bins of them. From Yo-size up to EID-size. If I sold all 32 of my dolls tomorrow, I'd still collect their shoes. I love shoes. Shoe lust is a very tribalizing kinda thing; you're either on the bus or you're off the bus. Other shoe-lover people, your tribe, will recognize, will get you right away. Because of COURSE you need those shoes, even though you have 25 other pairs, because these ones right here are fabulous and you don't have them. Non-shoe-lovers will blink at the size and quantity of your shoe-bins and say, "I think you have too many shoes" (correct reply: "shut up!").

I never tire of shoe-shopping; I get DollHeart's pre-release newsletters; those people have my number, from now unto eternity. Since I can't have all the shoes in the world for myself, I LOVE that I can get my shoe-collecting ya-ya's out on a small scale. Those sexy little DollHeart stompers cost 1/3 as much as my own fancy boots, and take up 1/3 the apartment space.

Are a doll's shoes important compared to the clothing? My god, Jim, of course they are. Shoes are the effing cornerstone. There are few things worse than seeing a doll in a fabulous outfit, perfect eyes, perfect wig, and tragic shoes that do utterly nothing to pull the look together. It makes Baby Jesus cry.

Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits? I haven't counted-- I may very well have as many shoes as outfits, or I might have more. Almost all of the shoes will work with any number of outfits. There are very few truly single-use shoes in the world, either for man or doll.

I am a fifth-level grand master accessorizer, so I magically channel which shoes go perfectly with each outfit. Sometimes there are shoe crises, though, when two or more pairs look perfect with the same outfit. The indecision is paralyzing. And the goddamn doll can't speak to tell you which pair he likes better. It is at these agonizing times of life that I wail to the ceiling, "Why oh why don't I have a roommate?"

How often does any doll change shoes? Whenever his look demands a change of shoes. Whenever the mood takes me. Or whenever a new pair of shoes comes into the house, and *zoom* immediately I know who they're for.

I have 6 dolls, four of whom have shoes. The other two are always barefoot. Three of them have one pair, the last has two pairs.

Fairly unimportant, but then most of my dolls only have one outfit. Urgh, I hate being poor!

The doll that has two pairs barely ever gets his changed, because one pair is so incredibly difficult to change that I had to mod his feet to get them on. These shoes are also my bargaining weapon- when he's being naughty, I threaten to burn them and then he's good as gold!

Let's see my 3 Azone Pureneemos have 8 pairs altogether and my big Obitsu 50cm has 4 pairs of shoes.Definitely more pairs than I have, lol.

I try to mix and match the outfits with what I have but if I feel like I need a different pair then that's when I buy new ones ^^;

Everytime they go to a meet which is about once a month on average.

Hard to answer this one ^^; As many as the stars in the sky? Heheh, well I figured a casual, a formal and a special one at least.
