1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Souldoll Double Boy Body puzzle (SOLVED)

Sep 28, 2009

    1. SOLVED thanks to Zennosaji and Naiara:

      In the parts section:
      Quote:
      * Osu & Soohyun's neck circumference is smaller than other boy dolls.
      Osu & SooHyun's size : 9 cm
Other boys size : 10.5 cm
      * When you place an order a boy body, please state it in [customer comments]box
      what you want.

I searched around a bit for the answer to this question that I have had for a while, but I found no clear answer.

I bought two SDD bodies second hand, from different sellers, both claimed that the bodies were fairly new and I have no reason to think otherwise, but I noticed something really interesting when I got their heads on them.

One neck is FAR thinner and longer (like a DG body) than the other (which is more like a SDF in thickness)

      ....what?

I checked for mods but both of the necks have seam lines! So they have not been modded. I have reason to think that one body came from an Ize. It's not a bad thing, in fact it sorta seemed like destiny considering the previous bodies the two heads had.

Anyway, did i miss something? Do some SDD bodies have thicker and shorter necks than other SDD bodies? Which thickness is the normal one?

it's a little frustrating because its way more dramatic irl than in photos but i think you can see the difference pretty easily in these.

    2. Can you put up a comparison picture? We might be able to help more then. ^_^

    3. mmmkay I added some photos~

    4. That's interesting, and it connects to something I've been curious about for a while. Is it possible that Souldoll quietly thinned the necks on the Double boy bodies after the early releases? I owned a Jin Woo for a while; his head looked all wrong on his neck, and I was a little leery of buying another Double boy because of that pinhead/thick neck proportion. But my Kanguk's head fits and looks much better on his neck. That makes me wonder (though I don't have both bodies around to compare) whether the neck itself is thinner than Jin Woo's was.

Is there any difference in the genitals on the two SDD bodies you have? I was startled to find that Kanguk's body only has a more-or-less shapeless bump, because I remembered Jin Woo's body as being sculpted with a reasonable amount of anatomical correctness. Granted, I might be all wrong about that . . . but I *think* I would have noticed the lack of detail while I had Jin Woo. :sweat

    5. *runs to check*

I don't see a diffence, but i would say these two are the "more-or-less shapeless bump" type.

      I smell...conspiracy! ''> >

    6. They do look like they're different, but it's hard to tell with those photos. Pictures of the bodies/necks next to each other, rather than separate photos that have been resized to show the difference, would be a lot easier. Headless would be even better, but isn't terribly necessary.

    7. How about simply measuring the circumference of both necks? They do look different, maybe Souldoll has really changed the necks at some point to make the heads look better on the necks.

    8. ... that's disturbing.

i'm planning for a souldoll sometime in the future, so i'm asking about this on the q&a board. i'll let you know when i get an answer. :3

    9. I'll do both of these things when I return home in a few days...I'm traveling right now so, no real way to measure.

Awesome!! I will measure and compare with what they tell you. Now I really wish I knew exactly how old these bodies were D:

    10. hey,

it's true that there are 2 types of double joint bodies.
I remember Jubriel and Imoel bought a body seprate,
then decided they wanted a mold from souldoll in the end anyway..
and asked if they could buy the head only for the body they got earlier.

Then souldoll told them that head had a different size/system then the body they had bought.

I noticed that.. the strange folded back privet parts on the body pictures of the seprate body on souldolls website... was completely different from what my ss Ize had.
Also his chest muscles were different and the tummy was a bit more detailed.
He had the body that in your pictures is on the left :3

It seems that their asian & super star sculpts have a different body then their other boys. :/?

What does surprise me is that this isn't really mentioned on the website.
Or well, i have never been able to find it..

    11. In the parts section:

    12. Wow! Cool, mystery solved then!! I wish more people knew about this so they would post which body types they are in the marketplace. Thank you for the help~

    13. Does anyone have pictures of the differences between these two bodies? I'm especially interested in the different muscle details on the torso.

    14. that's exactly the answer they gave me on the q&a board. i didn't think to check the parts description. how frustrating.... :\

but, i'd be interested in seeing pictures also, if you wouldn't mind. :3

i'm also going to ask if the actual neck opening size is different on those heads, or if it's just the body. if anyone wants to know the answer to that, i'll post it here.

    15. Okay...here are the two bodies side by side:

i don't see too much of a difference in their torso sculpt, only the neck

and here are the two necks, turned so they are closer than the shoulders allow them to be:

    16. oh thank you for posting those! i'm glad to see there's not really a difference otherwise.

i still feel pretty dumb for not checking the body section on the website, but i never really thought a company would have two different bodies for sale at the same time. i thought they would have edited old heads to match the new body, or something.

so are you gonna leave them that way, or modify one so your boys match? :3

    17. punkchaos: Don't feel dumb. :3 It's a logical place to have the info but certainly not an obvious one. I did look specifically because you'd asked; it's not as if I knew it was there.

    18. Thanks for the pictures, they help a LOT!! (For anyone who's confused, the one with the thinner/longer neck is the Osu & SooHyun body.)

So, it looks like the Osu/SooHyun body will work better for my Soom Namu head than the regular body. That's really good to know!
