Stands for centaur dolls?

    1. Hello everyone!

I have a Lafel from Doll Chateau, and he's beautiful.... but I have some trouble displaying him standing, as his ankles are a bit weak and he is very top-heavy.

I have two stands I tried. For one, one of these bendy 'invisible' stands with a flexible support and grip.
This one is some help when dressing the doll, but gives in too much to offer secure long-term support.

I also have one of the more traditional straight supports, but the saddle doesn't fit well under the belly or between the legs because of the shape of the horse torso.

I think the best solution would be a straight support with at least two points of contact, one closer to or in between the front legs and one closer to the back legs. Or maybe a shape more fitting and customized to the horse torso. The support would need to be about 24 cm high to fit under the belly.

Do you have any solutions or are there any ready-made products for something like that? Or will I have to DIY a solution myself?

I'm grateful for any suggestions and help!

    2. I think that unfortunately youre gonna have to DIY a solution. As far as I'm aware there isn't any centaur doll specific stands, but I don't think it'd be to hard to re-sculpt the top of your straight stand to work. Id get some sort of thermo-plastic like worbla, heat it, plop it over top the existing saddle stand and then reshape it to fit your centaurs belly curves.

    3. I worried that may be the answer... well, i do have some modeling clay around, so i guess i'll give that a try

    4. Honestly I would really suggest the thermoplastic over modeling clay. I worry that clay would crumble rather than bend if stressed by the doll moving.

    5. You could try a stand like this:
[IMG] it is very flexible at the top, but the bracket is very sturdy.

or Maybe you could see if you can find a stand like this that fits and use it sideways:

    6. I've never had or used any thermoplastic..... but I'll look into it.

I've been trying to find stands like that, but couldn't find any. The first option looks like it might work.
The second one, I worry that if the doll's legs might slip and the figure will tip over. I think *d need two U-shapes like that, arranged parallel, for more security.
