stories based off your dolls

There's only two stories there at the moment due to my lacking a computer for the better part of the year, however I'm planning to update soon once I get back in the swing of it.

 

I write tiny snippets about my doll characters! Nothing too long (I'm not dedicated enough for that, honestly), just things that give an idea of their personalities and perceptions. I write up general backstories for each girl too.

Here's a snippet I wrote up for my youngest character, a little human/fairy hybrid named Greta-

It’s hard to live in this world. Everything is artificial. Sometimes as I walk the streets, I find myself staring at these tall, plastic people with factory made clothing and walking the grounds with a constant wrapping of protection on their feet-as though the ground is somehow toxic to their fragile, pampered bodies. I cannot help but notice a contradiction; they pride themselves on how clean they are in their detachment from the natural world, but they gorge on substances that slowly lead to their death.

”Greta, let’s go! We’ll be arriving at dark if we continue on this slowly” Elda speaks to me. Like the dark is something to be afraid of. Humans all have this uncanny delusion that once the sun goes down, the world suddenly becomes more frightening. I regret to inform them that the world is always frightening, whether the sun is shining or the stars blinking.

For my first doll, I actually based her off of a preexisting character. Her background was written before I even got into the hobby. It's only in hard copy though. Right now I'm waiting for someone to come in and I've already thought of her character and story. It's fun, but a little daunting because now I want to buy her friends and family too. I wish I had the courage to post them somewhere.

 

Sort of? My BJDs will all be based off characters in a story I am co-writing...so yes, they will be based off of characters.

 

I have personalities for my dolls. And I have something of their back stories thought out as well.
I need to get on with actually writing it down, of course. And coming up with an arc for their story to follow.

 

I do not yet, but I'm sure I will. I don't think I will be posting them anywhere for anyone to see unless someone is really interested, but I do think that I might write journal entries for my doll. I think it might be a really fun way to help shape his personality.

 

I've created a whole world based around my dolls. I found world building is a fun hobby in itself that I really enjoy

Customs, holidays, religions, fashions and countries etc. So much fun.

 

I've gotten around to basing my doll on one of my characters who already has a story in progress along with...I haven't bothered to count but there's at least 12. I hope to turn them all into dols at some point, I really want a group photo with them all.

If I get a doll that I don't have a character for, I'd like to write a story about her as well. Not as the character, but as a doll. It sounds fun.

 

I wrote a few stories about my dolls before even getting them!

 

All my dolls are characters from my novels. I have a good sized collection of dolls so there's a lot of stories. The stories range in size from one-shot short stories (roughly 8K words) to novellas (up to 25K words) to novels (up to 100K words) to epic sized works (things over 200K words). Some are free-reads on my author LJ and some are only available through my publisher and some are only available on a pay site. I also have more stuff written than I do character dolls as trying to shell all my characters would be impossible unless I won the lottery. As far as dolls/stories go I have....

I haven't written about my dolls yet, but I might do that in the future, but it might not be totally story like.. More description of their story for me to remember the story precisely ^^

 

I do write stories about my dolls but don't put them online. I'd want to do photos to accompany them and I'd never get around to creating the sets and props they'd need.
