1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Survey, sort of: What do you like/hate about your dolls?

Nov 26, 2009

    1. I'm curious about the pros and cons of various dolls, or this aspect of doll ownership. I figured I'd post the questions here and see what owners of the dolls had to say.

      1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)?
(physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?

      Thanks!:)
      -Pere

    2. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?
CP Delf El NS Type 3 body ^^
      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)
El's are such beautiful dolls :D it was an impulsive decision really. I thought El was pretty far down my wishlist, but when it came down to it, I knew I had to have him as my first doll :)
      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
I love how photogenic he is- he has no bad angles. Also the Type 3 neck is great- his head comes off so easily (but only when you want it to!) His resin feels sturdy, good quality, and light disperses beautifully across it. It's also a lovely colour. The Type 3 body is very flexible too.
      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
I love most everything about him :) except the total floppines that seems to come with his double-jointed limbs. He's not so good at holding any pose that isn't straight standing, sitting, or lying down. He might as well not have arms for all the posing they can do. (I'll remedy this someday. but it's not all that hude a problem really). Also this is a really tiny thing, but his second toe is bigger than his big toe! It's very trivial, but it's a bit weird.
      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?
Oh, a hundred times :D He's a beautiful, excellent-quality doll for a good price, and Luts are great to buy from :D

    3. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?
ABJD from Volks (SD17, SD13B Long legged, Yo, MSD) Soom (Super Gem, Teeney Gem), Luts (SSDF, SDF) DOD (DOT and DOI) Rosen Lied (Tuesday Child) Fairyland (Puki, LittleFee), BlueFairy (Tiny Fair), Dollshe (Old DS v.1 and v.2) DP612 (SD13 size)

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)
      Sculpt and price

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

      How the sculpt looks
Some are harder to find clothes...

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

      Soom - access to outfits

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?

      Nope

    4. I will give this a go! :)

      1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?
A Custom House Ange Ai Hani, and DIM Minimee Eric Northman/Alexander Skarsgรฅrd (head).

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)
Hani - Sculpt and that she was on sale. I never planned to get her as my first, but my friend was doing an order during one of the half-price sales, so I figured, why the heck not?

Minimee - Sculpt I suppose, since he's my favourite actor. I had been waiting a few months (with about 2 other girls) for people to get in on ordering him and finally it happened, so I was really happy.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
Hani - Her adorable face and factory face-up, as well as the texture of her resin. It's a really nice feel and she's just such a sweet little doll. Also, the ease of carrying her around with me, since she's a tiny. Since sueding her, she poses VERY well, too.

Minimee - Just the fact that I have one in ten sculpts of such a handsome head. ;) Also the chance to try a very realistic face-up and customize him exactly to my specifications.

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)?
(physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
Hani - Her seams. They are AWFUL. She has actual chunks of resin on her right thumb and in her right eye socket. But this was to be expected with the dolls CH has put out lately. Nothing some sandpaper can't fix. She also used to pose pretty badly, but now she's sueded, so it's not an issue any more. I also don't like sewing for her very much because sewing so small is VERY annoying.

Minimee - Just a bit of roughness on the inside of his ears. it just looks like they weren't sanded properly, so I'll have to fix that.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?
Yes. Both of them. I love them to bits, and the long waits for both have really made them all the more worthwhile (plus have taught me a lot about being patient; a skill I really lack). I'm now stuck in another long wait for a Soom Alk, but it seems like nothing compared to waiting for my Hani and Minimee head.

Though I now know to choose a company with a shorter wait time for my next doll, because I've really had enough of the 3+ month waiting times. X3

    5. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?

Dream of Doll, Dream of Idol, Luke V1; Luts Senior Delf Cian V2; Soom Mecha Angel Sabik Elf; Soom Glati; Soom Skoll

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)

I'm one of those people that dolly-personify pre-existing characters from stories/roleplays/etc. So most of the time what I look for is predetermined by whatever character I'm wanting to buy a doll for. Price is a factor, though not as much as the actual sculpt/appearance of the doll itself. I'd have to say the most important factor for me is whether a doll's face works for the chosen character in mind. In the case of my character Hati though, I had to find a sculpt that was taller than 70cm, that had elf ears and a face that was neither too masculine nor too feminine... Soom MA Sabik Elf fit that profile pretty much perfectly - so in that one particular case, there were more factors involved than usual when I decided to buy that doll.

The other dolls had faces that worked for my characters ^^

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

Mecha Angel - I love Soom Sabik's face sculpt. It's so unique in that it can appear extremely masculine (with the right face up of course), or softer and more feminine (again, given the right face up). The elf ears are just the right length where they aren't too long nor too short as well. And they don't stick out and get caught on clothes/wigs when I'm changing them.

DoI Luke - His body. Hands down, I love the DoI bodies. My DoI is possibly the best poser out of all of my SD-sized dolls. If not, he's tied with my Luts SDF who is pretty good at holding poses too. I also like Dream of Doll's unique pale-pink resin tone. It's the perfect tone for my character as he's neither vampire paper-white, nor tanned... he's pretty fair in complexion.

Luts SDF Cian - Hard to say... I actually hated my SDF Cian's puffy cheeks to begin with. It made him look too child-like, but after several wig changes, the current wig Sieg is wearing seems to make his cheeks less puffy/child-like... either that, or I've gotten used to his cheeks and his pouty expression :sweat I think the main thing I like about him is his poseability... and the fact he can fit into all of my DoI's clothes/shoes XD

      Soom Skoll and Glati - Poseability is good (though not as good as Fairyland littlefees), but infinitely better than my SD-sized dolls because they're a lot smaller and thus it's easier to find their center of gravity. It's easier to find clothing for them in a sense as they'll generally fit into anything Yo-SD sized. Personally though, I just love them because they're a heck of a lot smaller than the other three and I can carry them around with ease ^^;

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

There's only two things I can really complain about... and the first thing is... My Mecha Angel can't pose to save himself! He's heavy up top with weak ankles and it doesn't help that the holes drilled into his legs aren't wide enough to wire him properly >__>

Secondly... my Luts SDF seems to yellow faster than my other dolls. I've had him for a year now, but I noticed (even several months back) that the fingers on his hands had yellowed. My DoI's hands have mellowed a little to and aren't quite as pink as the rest of his body, but it's nowhere near as noticable as my SDF's fingers.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?

To be honest... I still love the Sabik head sculpt and unless Soom releases a body that is tall and poses better than the MAs (or some other company releases a tall body that works with MA heads), I don't think I would choose another doll even though I now know how difficult it is to pose MAs.

As for the other dolls... I don't regret buying them at all even if my SDF's fingers annoy the heck out of me XD

    6. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?

Soom, Obitsu, Soul Doll, B&G (heads only), Delf, Volks, BBB, AR, Fantasy Doll (body only), Minimees (heads only), Ninodoll (heads only), Custom House (body only), Elf Doll (body only).

I have dolls from a lot of different companies, but because I have a lot of hybrids it's often a matter of a body from one and a head from another.

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)

Usually because they were a good match to a character I needed a body for. Some I bought just because they grabbed me.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

I love my dolls for various reasons--I love the smooth textured BBB resin and the fact that they come on so many colors. I like the weight and feel of the Volks dolls as well as their female headsculpts. I love Soom's 60cm line--their headscupts don't look like those of any other companies, and I find them very endearing. Ninodoll is a real favorite due to their expressive faces and so on. Posability is less a factor for me--I can generally get dolls to do what I want them to do just by taking the time to learn their quirks.

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

Obitsus are harder to find clothes for because they ity bity around the middle, and I have a few dolls whose hands I wish were larger. It's mostly just little things--no major complaints.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?

I would've still purchased them. I tend to go into things with my eyes open--I look for owner pics, information on companies, etc. I've had some very pleasant surprises, but no bad ones. In my own experience bjds are nicer in person than in pictures, and you can save yourself a lot of trouble by knowing what you want and doing a little research before buying.

    7. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?
DZ Cherry, DZ Coney, Luts delf Lu-Wen, Luts delf Lu-Wen Vampire girl, Luts delf DESV, Luts delf DES, Luts delf AES, Luts Wintery, Feeple Ashley, Feeple Ashley Vampire (sharing body), Peakswoods Goldie, Souldoll Chiron human, Dollmore Ha-Yarn Cho White Vulpes, Soom Heliot (both heads), Soom Amber, Soom Cass

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)
DZ Cherry: The Price. I didn't want an expensive doll, and wanted to order a doll through the only Dutch BJD agent at that time. And from their dolls I liked the Cherry best. I got the coney for free due the christmas event back then.
For the others: because I love the sculpt.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
DZ Cherry: I don't really like her anymore, so now she is my mod project and I am going to try some mods which I don't dare to try on my other dolls yet...
DZ Coney: I don't know, I don't really like tinies. But she is cute. :)
Luts delfs: I love their faces, and I also like the looks of the girl bodies.
Feeple: I love their face and their body. Beautiful looking and very good in posing too!
SuperGems: I also like their look. And their size. I love large dolls!
Soulcoll chiron: He looks pretty and I love his resin colour.
Dollmore Ha yarn cho white vulpes: I love her outfit and all the fullset thingies.
PW Goldie: She is so sweet and innocent looking.

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
DZ cherry: She is not very detailed
Luts delf boy: I just can't think of any boy clothes.
Luts girls: Too bad that they aren't double jointed.
PW Goldie: Also too bad that she is not double jointed. And she is hard to pose in general too. I think I need to hot glue and restring her.
Souldoll Chiron: his head is so small that his wig won't stay up. And his hands are so big that I need to replace them with supergem female hands to change his tops.
DM Ya-Harn Cho White Vulpes: She can barely stand. (but she looks pretty sitting too)
SuperGems: Always haveing trouble when they arrive. Missing parts, broken parts, etc. But other than that, they are great.
      Feeple: I don't know.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?
I would only not have bought my first doll, my dollzone cherry. But she learned me that I should go for the doll that I really like instead settle with a cheaper one just because they are cheaper.
And now I can use her as a mod project and hopefully she will turn out great. Although I kinda regret buying her, I would never sell her.

    8. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?
I have a Kid Delf Aru and a Bluefairy Olive.

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)?
      I liked them.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)?
About the Aru, i love her pretty body, graceful face, her ass and the fact that she's cute in almost everything i put her into.
About the Olive, i like her childish body, how her eyes can look snarky or sweet with just a movement, her pinkish skin and her weight.

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)?
Aru: her body seems to have devloped deep scratches without warning.
Also, her legs are too long and i don't like the yellowish skin tone.
Olive: she's unposeable, and her ass is too flat. Nearly impossible to string.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?
Probably not, i do like them a lot.

    9. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?
I have a LUTS Delf IF girl and have owned an SE Akando.

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)
I've always had mostly boy characters but I have one girl character I really love. I decided despite the fact that I would probably end up with boy dolls mostly, that I wanted a girl to start for cute clothes. I loved IFs mould and thought she'd work well for my girl character so she was my number one choice. (Even my dad said she was pretty!) For Akando, when we saw the SE my friend and I thought he had the perfect skintone and loved that he wasn't femmy, it made him seem like he'd be perfect for my main guy character who we both love dearly.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
      I love my IFs beautiful face, I think she's so lovely and she makes me smile. Her resin is really nice to the touch and even though she's abit bulky when out and about, she's still sits so nicely in my arms. :) The Akando had beautiful skin-tone colouring, and I have to say, the moobs and abs are lovely XD;

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)?
(physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
Her posing ability is pretty bad, but since LUTs won't be working on the female Delf bodies to bring them up to par with the rest it isn't suprising. I'll just have to get her a SDF Girl body eventually to fix that most likely. Finding her clothes I like is harder than I thought. It seems MSD girls would be easier to dress, and my SD tastes are not lolita, not punk, etc. It's rather tricky. For Akando, he was just way too heavy and kind of awkward to hold, it really reminded me of holding a baby. o_o; I didn't like how is posing worked either, I'm already just used to my Delf and even with her limitations liked the way it felt to work with her way more than with him.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?
Knowing the body issue the way I do now, I may have waited abit more to try and work out a fast body solution. However I still love this mould and the character she is so I expect I would still have gotten her eventually. I just would have perhaps gotten my Ani or a boy first on a Type 3. :)
Akando, would be a big fat no. He was gorgeous and I still love looking at Akando's but it was a waste of time, I popped him up for sale 2 days after I got him and now he's happily in a home that suits him. :) I'm glad I gave somone else a chance to get him since he was only a limited time release, but I still kick myself for wasting all that time!

    10. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?

Currently I only have one doll, a Leekeworld Luke. ^^

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)

Oh it was definitely the sculpt that made me fall in love with him. I love his expression most of all. It's very cute and innocent, and surprisingly versatile. From most angles, he looks rather happy and perhaps a little mischievous. Though I've gotten him to look deep in thought, smirky, sad, and so on.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

I really love the color of his resin. It's this wonderful creamy peachy color. It's very smooth too, but it does have a nice texture to it. As I said in the above question, I really adore his expression and personality. I also think he has a nice weight to him. I've also found that wigs are easy to find for him.

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

I'm not really a fan of the leekeworld body. His arms pose nice, 'cept for his left arm is rather odd, but I believe it's the stringing. His right arm poses wonderfully and flawless, but his left arm just has a tendency to snap back and go into weird positions. o.O; I wish his legs would pose better too, but they don't. XD I'm also gonna blame the stringing on that one.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?

I would have purchased his head for sure, but I probably would have bought a different body.

    11. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?
I have a Soulkid Katie.A , a Luts Kid Delf Bory Girl, and a Volks Suiseiseki.

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)
I wanted my first doll, the Soulkid, to be in my price range, but still good quality. MSD was the perfect size for me, because the SD's that I saw at a meet-up seemed intimidating for a first doll.

I wanted an Iplehouse SD for my second doll, but really fell for the Luts Bory sculpt. It was not my intention to have two MSD-sized girls so soon. I wouldn't have minded spending more, and I felt like I was getting a real deal from Luts because the quality is very good.

As for my Volks girl, she was my dream doll. I took the chance to buy her when I could, even though I can't play with her until after the semester is over.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

I think I like my Bory girl the best because of her posing ability and her adorable little face. Suiseiseki doesn't pose as nicely, but the resin is beautiful, especially considering that she's over two and a half years old. Right now I am frustrated with the Soulkid because I've had to re-string her twice already, and will do so again really soon. I'll also suede her joints. After she poses better, I'll probably like her again as much as when I first got her.

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)?
(physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

I really dislike how poorly my Soulkid poses, but this is something I can work on. I love my Volks girl, though I really wish that her torso was double jointed. Getting clothes for all of them is a constant issue because of how picky I am.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?

I knew that Soulkids were not great at posing when I bought her, but at least there is potential. I would still have my Volks girl, because one of my favourite things about her is how "doll-like" the body is, so the torso is not a major gripe. My Bory is perfect. :)

    12. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?

Uhh, a bunch. ^^ Twenty-six of them right now.
Brands variously represented: Volks, Iplehouse, Unoa, Dollmore, Soom, DD-Anne, Limhwa, AngelRegion.
Sizes represented: from 10cm to 80cm.
Colors represented: 4 shades of Whiteskin, more than 10 Volks Normalskin, 6 shades of Tan.
      Off-duty, they look like this.

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)

I fall in love with them. It has to be True Love.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

I would be here all day if I were to answer this for all 26 dolls. ^^

So, an aggregate answer: The deciding factor, which reveals to me when it's True Love and not just a strong Infatuation, varies from doll to doll. It might be anything - faceup, skin color, fullset concept, body, sculpture, expression/ personality, etc. But I know it when I see it. The doll's sales photo will just call to me in a certain way and not leave me alone.

Once they're living here, I will fall in love with even more minute/unique details about each one. For example: I am crazy about Karim & Radu's deep-toffee resin color and texture, I am reverent about Kaiya & Shinji's museum-perfect designer faceups, I love Lalyraa's hyper-elongated grace, I enjoy the way Izumi & Sada are easy to shop for because they look good in almost any SD13 clothes that Volks makes, I love the mood of bounce and liveliness and laughter that Rainey exudes, and I have a fatal weakness for the cuddly, adoring way Bijan gazes up at me. :> The list goes on & on.

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

Also varies 'personally' from doll to doll. One of my SD13s I love for his extra-tight stringing and professional sueding job; another one of my SD13s I hate for his annoying left-hip-socket problem and the way I cannot seem to get him strung right. I hate the way my EID and my SD17 pinch the hell out of my fingers if I'm not careful when I move their joints. I dislike the weak screws used to hold my Lotus Near's arms together, because they keep breaking, and repairs are hair-raisingly difficult. I'm amused yet annoyed at the way the SD Graffiti body has beautiful muscles and long limbs but NO ass whatsoever, so his pants hang flat in back. ^^ And that list goes on too...

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?

Yes. Because True Love always wins. :) I don't mind living with imperfections when it's something I really love.

    13. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?

I have Volks, Soom, Lati, Dollmore, Honig Doll, Fairyland, Domuya, MSDolls, ElfDoll, Souldoll, and Doll Factory

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)

Primarily the head sculpts on all of them are waht I really wanted. My Sard also has the fantasy parts which I love. I certainly buy them because they were cheap! Although I got the DF Nara and the MNF Woosoo in a trade- and the SD Aku was an impulse buy.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

So far all my dolls have very nice resin with few issues aside from the usual yellowing with age. Some are more possable than others. The Kid Dollmores and the Glamour Body I have are great although Eisheth can't stand. All of them except the Lati Greens and the MSDolls Drayton are easy to get clothes for. If I buy something for one doll and it doesn't fit chances are I have somebody who can wear it. The head sculpts of course are what I loved about all of them. You can't go wrong with a cute face! Or fantasy parts, or funky resin colors! Violetta the Honig Sidra is a champion sitter with great poses, Eisheth the Volks DM hybrid is sexy beyond beleif and has the posing ability to show it off. My SD Aku with the giant head is HARD to stand but the cuteness makes up for it, ditto for my Alice pig and Nara.

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

Well, the MSDolls Drayton is hard to find pants for because he has a huge bubble butt. My Soom tiny Glot has ugly hands! I was so shocked! They look like shovels! Most will stand except for my Honig Sidra who needs wiring and sueding and Eisheth who has weak ankles which could also use sueding. The Lati Greens don't have chest joints, and Sard can't sit very well, and for a double jointed elbow his posing is rather limited. My Domuya Drui can't stand OR sit well! But does make the perfect tree sprite so I live with it. My floating Suiseiseki head has a super weak maget in her head cap. I also don't like that Soom makes you glue in all the magnets yourself. Considering how expensive the dolls are they could do it for you.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?

I think I might not have gotten Sidra. But I'm pretty happy with my crew right now. There are a few changes I'd like to make- I'd like to get Glot's fingers separated so I can pose her fingers, and I would like to get some of them sueded but I'm lazy and willing to work around their disabilities.

    14. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?
      Volks SD13 F-15 boy
      Volks SD13 old F-27 boy
K-Doll Kill_U SP on Volks SD10 girl body

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)
I wanted the heads because they were beautiful and I picked the best matching bodies.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)?
      Physical looks, clothing access, resin.

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)?
My F-27 is oldskin and his body isn't in very good shape, it's got a piece inside the chest that is supposed to be glued down and it keeps coming unglued so he poses badly every time that happens. His head is also yellowed quite a bit, but I knew that when I bought him.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?
I wouldn't change any decisions about those three dolls I listed.

I've sold a few dolls, I would have avoid buying some of them (Syo Sweet Dream, PF Liu, Kotenshi Yuri, Cyndy) and avoid selling some of them if I could do it over again (Kohya, Liz, Tan Lishe, old F-04).

    15. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?
I have RS Mei, AR Dana, DZ Megi, Puki Pukisha, MNF Soo, and Crobidoll Nia.

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)
Mei- I loved the sculpt and the price. She was my first and so I wanted to start off a little cheaper. She was a gateway doll into more expensive ones.
Dana- She was my impulse buy. She was listed on the MP for $200 and she's a hybrid so I thought she'd be really cool to have. I loved her hair and dress that she had on, and didn't realize that she wouldn't come with anything in the pictures.
Megi- He was the doll that I first seriously wanted to get. It took over a year, but I was determined to have him someday.
Puki Pukisha- He was also an impulse buy. I got him from a friend and ended up selling the human pieces that he came with and kept the pukisha things. I was going to sell the whole doll, but I liked the pukisha look too much to sell him.
Soo- First I had wanted a Shoyo for the character I had in mind. But then I saw a Shoyo IRL and she wasn't right for what I wanted, so I looked around and Soo fit perfectly.
Nia- My friend has a Nia and I just love him to pieces. At our meet-ups, I play with him more than my dolls. So I got one for myself so I could play with him all the time.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
Mei- I love her face and her ears and her hands.
Dahlia- Right now I love her faceup best. She also fits into a lot of clothes and is easy to sew for.
Megi- Poseability. He has the most expressive hands of all of them. His resin is really nice too.
Pukisha- Magnetic hands, feet, and ears. They're the best.
Soo- Nothing really working for this one right now. She was modded into a gender neutral doll and so I'm making him into a boy right now.
Nia- He's my first SD, so I'm amazed by the detail in his sculpt. I'm also amazed how he looks so blank without a faceup. I can't figure his personality out at all.

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
Mei- Her resin is badly stained in places and it's not a topical stain, it's actually within the resin. She also is IMPOSSIBLE to restring.
Dana- Right now, her torso is really floppy and she really can't stand up. Nothing that some elastic and hot glue can't fix though.
Megi- I'm worried how his white skin will yellow. I didn't think about that when I got him.
Pukisha- So tiny! I can't make clothes that size at all, so he's a cat that doesn't have to wear clothes.
Soo- Can't stand and I don't know how to restring with the neckpiece.
Nia- A lot of clothes don't fit him, and I'm only really good at making dresses.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?
Faye- I might have just gotten her head and made a hybrid. I might do that now though.
Dahlia- Nope. I love her to pieces.
Megi- I might have gotten him in NS-pink.
Pukisha- Nope. He's really fun and cute.
Soo- I might have waited and gotten a new one instead of a used one, but she was much less expensive this way, and I ended up with the twins that I wanted.
Nia- When he gets a faceup, I'm sure I'll love him much more than I do now.

    16. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?
      HZ Ao Ze Tian.

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)
There was kind of a deal on, but I loved the sculpt, so... sculpt and price? And I'm a huge fan of Heise.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
HMM, I love everything about him, I dunno. He's very beautiful, I love the different looks you get out of him when you change angles, his body is awesome and he poses really great. The resin is just gorgeous and soft and perfect, and I can go on forever haha...

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
Access to clothing; he's 65cm, and everywhere I look dolls seem to be either 60 or 70, there's not really any.. in betweens. It wouldn't bother me, but clothing is so expensive... so I'm a bit worried about buying something that won't fit him. I can always re-sell it I guess but... So yeah, with time I'll find what fits him and what doesn't; I just need to be braver.
And his arms are kind of loose, but it's never really a problem.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?
Absolutely would have still bought him, yes of course.

    17. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?

Currently, two Unoas and two MW Juniors.
Also, a legion of floating heads that include a kid delf, SNG, Leekeworld, Fairyland, and more unoas.

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)

The Juniors I bought because their type of size and sculpt made them perfect for my very first character I created years ago.

The Unoas because they were very beautiful, versatile and expressive.

The Fairyland head and Unoas face-plates I bought because I am interested in modding them.

The SNG heads I bought for my other two characters.

The Leekeworld heads I was suppose to practice face-ups on but never got to. Though I am keeping one because he turned into a character.

The kid delf head I am interested in also modding, but as it's a discontinued sculpt I am considering on just using it as face-up practice.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

What I love about my Juniors is that they have a kind of charm it is hard to find in dolls nowadays; very simple but yet versatile in their own way. Which tuned them into the perfect canvases for what I had in mind.
The Unoas I bought because I was fascinated by their miniature beauty and face-plate system, which I found pretty convenient.

The Fairyland head I bought because the price range was well-enough for modding practices I wanted to do.

The SNG heads attracted me because they had the type of features that suited my aesthetics. I'm especially picky about noses and preferred the kind that realistic dolls tend to have but I also desired a doll-like quality as well. And the SNG heads were perfect for that. ^_^
The Leekeworld heads were for face-up practice. But one started growing on me since a long time ago and after much inner-debate I decided that he stays (at least until I finish his aesthetics; then we'll see xD).

The kid-delf's price-range was also nice enough for me to use for practice.

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)?
(physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

The Juniors' clothes are a real PITA to find because of their odd size. I've had to spend a small fortune to commission their outfits from someone. *_* That, and their poseabilty sometimes feels lacking compared to my other dolls.

The Unoas I don't play with as much as much because they were just so damn expensive. They mostly sit in my closet all day long. Of course, I have a another reason why (they've no wigs, lol) but even so, I never played with them before other than to take photographs.

Four or five(some more incoming) of my floating heads... frustrate me because I sometimes remember how much money I have to spend to buy them bodies, lol.

The other floating heads I have nothing to say about.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?

My Juniors can't be replaced for anything in the world. They are truly my first OOAK creations and if they ever get sold it's because I'm leaving the hobby or in such a dire circumstance that it may involve saving my life or the life of someone close to me.

My Unoas I do sometimes regret because I don't play with them as much and I feel that it's sometimes not justified that I keep them. They are the inspiration of my photography but I feel that once my large size dolls come in sometime soon-ish I may not pay attention to them at all. If I can't bond with them even after the modding the optional face-plates then I guess it's time to let go. :(

    18. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?
      I have a LeDoll Adonis, a tan Dollzone Kay, and a Cherishdoll Favian. Oh, and a random Dollmore Adam head. ^_^;;

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)
Adonis: I was browsing DDE and ran across a random outfit...and a doll sporting it that looked exactly like one of my original character that I had never planned to make a doll of. ^_^; Short answer: sculpt. The fact that he was cheap didn't hurt my feelings though!
Kay: Once again, just like my OC. =D
Favian: Cherishdoll was having a sale, so this was probably more price-influenced than sculpt-influenced...

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
My Adonis...I love everything about him. ^_~ I'm a tad bit biased, though, he was my first and so far my favorite.
My Kay is ADORABLE. And he poses really well.
      The Favian...well, his body seems to have a mind of its own, which is amusing in its own right. ^_^;

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
Adonis: His resin is a tad bit more yellow than I would have liked. Also, his shortness as an SD is posing some problems in picking height-appropriate bodies for other characters...
Kay: Dollzone BB feet are TINY.
Favian: For some reason this guy is a pain the butt to pattern for!

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?
Yes, yes, and...probably. XD I love my dolls the way they are.

    19. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?
MNF woosoo boy (tanned) & CP breakaway (WS)

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)
woosoo was my dream doll. being too expensive i bought the little ver :3 and for the breakaway,i dunno. hes sexy and i found one so i bought it XD

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)

breakaway: his nose + he looks AMAZING on pictures x3 and his open mouth + nice size to hug
woosoo: his body(it pose nicely). the fact that i can take off his hands like that (magnet powah!!) and he is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
breakaway: he is terrible to pose. his legs are f*cking loose and i recently opened his eyes and i sometimes think i shouldnt've
woosoo: he is not a nice size to hug. he keeps losing his hair and he looks weird on photos

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?
i probably would've tried to find another kind of body for my breakaway. other than that ,yes :)

    20. 1. What kind of doll(s) do you have?
      BBB Weylin tan skin

      2. What factor made you buy that particular doll(s)? (sculpt/price?)
Sculpt and price. I bought him from a BBB dealer at a convention. I immediately fell in love. He really wasn't my first choice as a doll but hey I'm poor and I love him anyway.

      3. What do you love most about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
I love his nose. Yes, his nose. I don't know why but I like to stare at it.

      4. What do you love least about your doll(s)? (physical aspects - poseability, access to clothes, patterning, mod ability, resin type, etc)
I didn't like the spock eyebrows he came with but I've gotten that removed and my own choice of faceup took its place.

      5. If you knew what you know now about the doll before you had purchased it, would you still have purchased that doll(s), or would you have chosen another?
Of course. Even not being my first choice, he grew on me and I can't see me not owning one.
