1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

The Doll in Your Avatar

Dec 28, 2025 at 7:19 PM

    1. This thread is for all of the people who share their beloved dolls in their DoA avatar icons.

I would like to know what your doll is, what year you bought the doll (if you can remember), maybe a little bit about the doll's personality. I would like to know if you sew for your doll or what style clothes your doll likes. In general, let's just talk about the doll.

People call me "the pink poodle person" because the doll in my avatar is really Edgar, my Soom Heliot poodle.

Let's have some fun in the New Year! Enjoy! :aheartbea

    2. This is Issa, a DollClans Jacquer. The bridge of his nose was sanded down near the brow bone for an indent. He was second hand and purchased in 2014 or 2015 while I was overseas. I had him babysat by my friend until my return, so she was the first one to dress and play with him after I bought him. IIRC he was my 4th doll, with his partner being the third.
He's quiet and shy with some cPTSD anxiety, but his partner keeps him grounded. He loves nature and flowers and animals, and his personal fashion is typically Mori-esque with earth tones and natural fabrics. While I have sewn/crocheted some things for him, he's probably one of the easiest dolls in my crew to shop for in terms of style and fit. His wig is a fur wig that I think is just a little too big because it is constantly flying off in spite of my attempts to anchor it, so I may have to crack down and sew it smaller. XP

    3. Mine is Alphie (Alphonse) my first BJD who cam eot me second-hand from eBay back in either late 2004 or early 2005.

He's a Luts CP Delf Chiwoo. He's a a quiet, unassuming, ten year old boy from a large extended Victorian family of siblings, half-siblings, and cousins. He's not the eldestr boy in the family (Jean-Claude is 13), but he is the tallest (which Jean-Claude is not happy about). His wardrobe mostly consistys of sialor suits and a Norfolk suit, plus some dress-up/histroical costume outfits like the Medieval houpellande and ruffled 18thCentury shirt he's wearing in my avatar/icon picture (the first things I made him), and a few modern bits that he had before the Victorian family became a thing.

    4. Thank you, guys! Adding pictures of the dolls to this thread is a great idea! :D Bring it on.

      More! More! More! :love

    5. The dolls in mine are Moon and Crow. They're OCs from my novella. It's an old pic from back when Moon was on a DDS body. Her head is resin, Little Monica Sarubia, and I eventually got tired of trying to keep it on the vinyl body. I never got it quite right and it was just always wobbly. She has an UFdoll body now because I needed something affordable. I'd like to find a body that's a bit shorter, but it's hard to find 50-55 girls.

Crow is a Doll Family-A Jiuyu. I got the company faceup because it was perfect for him, and added stitching along his cheeks (he is part "scarecrow," a type of demon in my book).
I got them both in 2022, I think.

      This is the avatar image[IMG]

      Here's them more recently[IMG]

And bonus pic from their wedding shoot that I'll eventually post here in full (probably around their anniversary)[IMG]

This a larger picture of my avatar. She is Minifee Alicia, but I call her Neoma. She’s my first Minifee, and she goes through changes here and there, but usually circles back to my original idea for her. She’s a mermaid, or half-mermaid, that likes to hang out on land. Her style is summery, beachy, and feminine. My fav wig for her is this purple leekeworld wig, but sometimes she wears a pink curly wig from a Fairyland fullset.

Here is the picture I used to use as my avatar. I think this photo is from 2020 or 2021? :sweat I got her in December of 2020. So she is five years old now!

[IMG]Neoma Here’s a more recent picture of her, wearing the pink wig. I like to think she enjoys glamorous clothes for the cold season. Simply for the fun of it :whee:

    7. Mine is an Iplehouse EID Lahela in light brown. I have had her a long time now...looking at the dates on my early photos of her maybe 2011? I just love the Lahela sculpt and she is still a favourite although I love the HID body and so an HID sized Lahela is still on my wish list.

This one favours the long curly dark wig which was a JPOP Winter Angel and she mostly wears daywear, casual styles...she has had a different face up for a few years now...I need to take some new photos of her...of all of my dolls really.

    8. Mine is an Iplehouse f.i.d ‘Harace’, curvy body that I adopted in 2022 from another DOA member. As yet she has no name and also no clothing (much like most of my dolls).

Her look in the picture is based on the various artist interpretations of the Welsh Celtic deity Blodeuwedd who is often depicted with flowers in her hair. Her eyes are black to represent the Owl she was turned into.

    9. This is such a fun thread idea! I love looking at all of the BJD avatars on this site! I personally always forget how many different types of BJDs there are these days, then I see a gorgeous one in an icon and wonder, "Who is THAT?" :D

The doll in my icon is a Noble Dolls Raspberry. I actually own two! This one is from 2018, and she's my first BJD. She's also the clear favorite in my collection and pretty much always travels with me. Here she is in Japan.

My dolls don't have names or personalities. They're more customizable art pieces to me, so they're always changing up wigs and eyes based on what matches their outfits. I think I'd be a little too particular if I tried to "shell" any of my OCs, so it's just more enjoyable for me to have dolls that are just dolls. I do still put a lot of love into them despite not having characters attached to them, though! I do a lot of crafting myself. The eyes, wig, necklace, and headpiece in this photo were all made by me. The beautiful corset was made by Raouken. I purchased it secondhand at Resin Rose a couple of years back from another collector. I felt very lucky to come across it and really appreciate them selling it to me. ^o^

    10. My avatar is of one of my lovely Heliots, Ansel. :aheartbea
He was the Heliot that I actually got to order as an adult with their rerelease. I had so desperately wanted a Heliot with their initial release, but was a broke high school student at the time. Now, I have him and his "brother" Zillah. <3

    11. I have that Déjà vu feeling that this is an existing thread on the game section. I'll post anyway, I provably already did, on the game thread and this is more likely than not going to be merged there.

The lips on my avatar belong to my individually ordered DIM Minimee based on Crisis Core Sephiroth. I am the original owner, if memory serves I got him in 2009. I did sew or attempted to sew his OG Crisis Core outfit, but that didn't go well. He is a floating head, I did intend for him to be on his own body one day. That has slowly faded into probably never happening.

The cropped photo in my avatar is much older. Here's what he looks like now with more recent mods and new face up.

    12. The doll in my avatar is my first!

He's a Blue Blood Doll Valentine in vampire skin. I got him all the way back in 2014. He's been with me to a lot of places! At the present moment, he's waiting for a new faceup because I am shelling a new character into him. But when the photo was taken, his name was Remiel (Remi for short), and he's an angel who visits the world that we live in from time to time to spend a life-time or two. My second doll was bought for him as a companion. Ananiel (Ana for short) was a demon who shared the same hobby and they became friends over this strange hobby of theirs.

His new name is going to be Lelio. He'll have red hair and green eyes. And he's going to be a professor who teaches at a university. I will post photos of him when he's ready to show off his new face!

Unfortunately, Blue Blood Doll is no longer in production. So I am most likely never going to let my boy go. He is literally one in a hundred in the world!

    13. Meet Brendan and Cooper, my two favoritest, bestest boys! (Don't tell the others I said that. :XD: )

Bren is a Migidoll Siho head in cream brown on a Luts Senior Delf Type 4 body in real skin brown. I've had the character as a Siho since 2021, but recently reshelled him in summer 2025. I had always wanted him tan, but Siho is a very rare sculpt, and the body is discontinued, so I didn't think I'd ever get him in brown/tan skin and settled for NS. But I got lucky! He's a grail of sorts. He's a loud mouthed, blunt, reckless attention whore, but lovable, loyal with a heart of gold too. On the surface, people tend to think he's kind of demanding asshole (and he CAN be!), but once you get past the surface, you see that he's there for his friends, loyal to everyone who is good to him and his boys, family oriented and will bend over backwards to help out the ones he loves. He's a skater, stunt man, fashion designer and musician.

Cooper is a heavily modded Migidoll Cynical Yujin in meringue beige on a modded Luts Muse body in real skin normal. I've had his character since late 2019, and while he's always been a Yujin/Cynical Yujin (he has multiple heads), he got his Muse body in...I think 2021. On the surface, he comes across as sweet, sensitive and gentle, but he's definitely got a playful, prankster, mischievous side once he gets to know you...or when nobody's expecting it! Which is why Bren calls him "Sweetheart". It is not because he's made of sugar, it's pure sarcasm, as Bren saw through that facade the night they met! Cooper's very big on animal rights, veganism, human rights, and everything being all natural and as gentle on the environment as possible. He is a bartender, but his true passion is music--he sings, plays guitar, bass, piano and drums, and writes both music and lyrics.

Together, Bren and Cooper have been a couple for three years (actually their 3 year anniversary is tomorrow!) and have a wedding date set for February. They live in a castle with several other friends, Cooper's two dogs, and a huge aquarium full of clownfish.

I have poured my soul into these boys! I modded them myself, I made the hybrids work, I have styled their wigs (but not made them myself), I did their faceups and blushing, and I do sew for them often, but not everything they own is made by me. They both have very fleshed out characters with in depth backstories and full families--Bren's family tree is mapped out for five generations even! I roleplay them regularly with my sister. :)

Here's a couple more pics of them:

    14. I love this thread and am enjoying everyone's stories of their dolls!

      ---

The dolls in my avatar are Syr (Crobidoll Lance girl) and Justinian (Dollstown Mui). They're the only dolls left in my collection that I bought during my "newbie days" (2009-2013).

      Full pic
      [IMG]

Back then, I didn't know what dolls I wanted, so I was buying whatever struck my fancy, selling those that fell out of favour, figuring out my taste as I went. Then around 2013, I went on a long hiatus - stored my dolls away and completely left the hobby scene. When I came back in 2022, I sold the remaining BJDs that I had no attachment to anymore, and began a new phase of the hobby.

I kept Syr and Justinian. Out of the 8 total dolls I bought pre-hiatus, they were the only ones I still loved post-hiatus. They had made the most lasting impressions on me as a newbie. Lance was the third doll I bought but the first doll I truly fell in love with and felt that desperate urge to buy. Mui was the 6th doll I bought, he single-handedly defined my taste in male sculpts, and Dollstown was quite instrumental in shaping my overall tastes in BJDs too. They're both single-jointed (Syr is hybrided on a Dollstown body), I think their bodies are very beautiful, and even though I feel the limits of their joints and don't play with them as often as my newer dolls, I have zero desire to re-body them to anything double-jointed. They're perfect as they are!

My tastes have shifted away from this old-school aesthetic, but I'm still quite fond of them and they are the foundation of my doll collection today. The dolls hold a lot of memories of the earlier time in my life. Character-wise, I only truly developed them after I came back from hiatus (I shell OCs and tell stories with my dolls). It's quite poignant that their characters became a couple post-hiatus... also, it never, ever crossed my mind to make couples out of my dolls or develop their story that way, until one day, I made Syr and Justinian hold hands and went "waaaaait OH MY GOD this is too cute!!!!!!" *head explodes*

All my post-hiatus dolls have been home less than 3 years, while Syr and Justinian have been home for 16 and 15 years - though a lot of that time was spent in storage. :sweat I do have new favourite dolls now, but I keep these two in my avatar because they'll always be my oldest ones!

    15. What a fun topic :DThe doll in my avatar is an Art-tong Dolce. I got him during the early COVID shutdown. I was browsing through faceup galleries on IG when I noticed this doll with the sculpted lip lines and mesmerizing eye shape. She was very unique looking- but also familiar in a way too.

The faceup artist had noted the doll artist had an Etsy shop so I went and made a purchase. Then it hit me why Art-tong sounded familiar and why I liked the Dolce sculpt so much. In the early 2000s, I used to follow an art doll blog that was owned by one of the artists who would go on to work for Denny of Doll in Mind :blush I had messaged Arttong (the artist name is Jun Kyungsun) about it and she said she did work for DIM before the company retired from making dolls. I gushed to her about how much I loved her creations and she was touched there were people who remember her works:blush She is a very sweet person and she had gifted me a tiny size doll sculpt I have yet to complete her (only have the body so far.)

Jun Kyungsun’s Etsy shop doesn’t seem to be up anymore and I don’t think she does resin dolls anymore. She is making/selling bisque miniature figures and you can see her work on IG (junkyungsun). She also does 60cm size of Dolce in bisque and has entered her in art shows/ galleries. I feel like Dolce is very unique and a real piece of art as her counterparts are in art galleries :XD:

My Dolce is in white skin on a Luts Muse body. I wanted an androgynous -leaning more feminine- look so I can dress him in both male and female clothes. His name is Anima- I thought fitting as its meaning is “the feminine part of a man’s personality” and even though he is genderless, I often refer to him as a “he.”
His faceup is done by Pauli Anne.
I’m still mesmerized by him after all these years :chibi. In this pic he kind of looks like Griffith from Berserk :XD:

My plans for him: I want to start sewing for him sometime in 2026. I have these Filipino traditional outfits with modern styles I’d like to make for him <3

    16. The doll in my avatar is Bohemia Rose, a Dollzone Anson from 2011. I was utterly mesmerized by this sculpt when I first saw it, and I can remember haunting my doll dealer waiting for them to activate that “buy button”. When they did, I struck like a cobra and she was mine! I had been happily collecting for a handful of years prior to her arrival, but once she came she completely eclipsed everything I had ever done with my small collection. So I sold off everyone else and restarted my collection with everything built around that one single doll. It was the best decision I ever made, and has helped me amass an amazing collection that makes my heart and mind sing every time I look at it.:)

Her story is that she was once a white rose, left on the grave of a young woman who died too soon by someone who loved her. And that flower absorbed all the emotions and experiences of that young woman, becoming sentient. I did all the artwork on her to illustrate this story, and she has an extensive wardrobe of beautiful and etherial clothes I’ve made her.

    17. Mine is a Loong Soul pet rabbit. I stuck him in my outdoor fairy garden for this picture. I don't see myself changing icons because it goes with my name on here. I use this picture as my icon on almost every website that I belong to. The little bunny is adorable. :daisy

    18. Mine is Keshi, my Dollstown Soph B. She is my oldest bjd left (I sold all those I bought before her). She is from 2009. This photoshoot I took on vacation, in 2017.

She's still one of my favorite doll. I used to buy her a new commissioned outfit every two years (that's already a lot, compared to other of my dolls). I take her more often than any other bjd when I'm going on vacation (for photoshoot in other landscapes). She is a really spoiled girl, haha. I never completed her look - she has an old blush on the belly which needs to be redone, she has tattoos from a previous custo (not fitting the new character I gave her like... 10 years ago, ooopsie)... but I love her from the moon and back.

About the character I gave her, she is a voodoo priestress in my fantasy/steampunk world. She is a kobold, a creature smaller than humans, but a quiet and quite friendly little soul. She isn't shy but very reserved, nearly taciturn. She has an affair with a young human woman (my Dollstown Elysia).

I try to take at least one photoshoot per yer of her. She used to be in my display case nearly all year (hidden from direct sunlight by an opaque fabric), but now I tend to keep her in her box (I'm afraid of her turning green).

    19. Name: Kitiblu
Company/Sculpt: Resinsoul Mei on Rong body in Sky Blue
Received: 7/29/2010 She was my first BJD along with a Resinsoul Mai
      Eyes/Hair: Yellow/Black with Blue Streaks
      Race/Species: Rae'yth
      Style: Rockabilly/Retro
Special Interests: Fashion Design, Dancing, Rockabilly Music
      Favorite color: Red
      Family: Half Sister Hederyx
      Friends: Tigerlilly & Syringa

She is an original character that I created many many years before knowing about BJDs I was so excited to find a doll in a fantasy color to bring her more to life. Her background is she is a hybrid race called Rae'yth from a dimensional world called Tyrne'ar. I started sewing clothing for my BJDs right away and then started to write photostories which I use to post here on DoA but my links keep getting broken so I've been mainly posting on Facebook. More recently at the beginning of the year I turned the photostories into video to place up on my YouTube channel so more people could view them, but I'm only halfway through the old stories, I'm hoping as soon as I catch up I'll write more. My signature should be updated so you can find my stories either on FB or YouTube. 2026 I'm going to try and get back to my roots and do more with my BJDs and get back to being more active here on DoA where it all started.

My favorite (and newest) doll in my collection. He's a Dream Valley Uncia head on a custom Resinsoul body. He's a species called Ekko from an old book I wrote a long time ago.

He's a total pain to dress, but only because I hate covering his pretty purple and black resin
