The One. (AKA it just clicked!)

when i first saw Iplehouse's Gentle SooRi, i knew i had to one day own that doll. so, when a very nice user on here offered me a Gentle SooRi head for free, i was super excited! when he finally got to me, and it turned out she gave me a body as well, i nearly died. when i first held him, his name came to me, and it's like we bonded instantly. i can't think of Sven as just a doll. he's got personality and such. x:

 

Iplehouse Tatiana. She is THE ONE.
Im so upset that due to Canada's post strike and lack of funds that I cannot afford her right now.
I knew from the moment I saw her that she was perfect for me. No other doll comes even close to how much I love her

 

For me, "The One" is a Minifee Active Line Ryeon girl period. She is my grail and dream doll-the perfect representation of my OC. Big, expressive eyes and the crazy adorable pout! *gush* I'm a person that won't just buy a doll impulsively-I really have to love it to invest time and money into the purchase or I just won't do it. But once I find my grail doll, there's no turning back for me.

 

My first experience of "the one" was when I picked out my first doll, and AH Ciel. I saw him on the website and knew immediately that it had to be him, despite the fact that AH's MSDs were so new that no one had them yet-- and I haven't regretted it for a minute. I'm more into the SD size now, but I still feel like Tristan is just meant to be with me.

My second experience was actually after my DoT Calla came home with her beautiful face-up by Shallowsleep. When I first bought her, I wasn't sure I really wanted a female doll (this was before I had my other two girls), but now there are days when I just stare at her and marvel in her beauty

 

I have these fairly regularly. Sometimes it'll be a new faceup, or sometimes just a wig, eye, or outfit change, and something about the doll hits me as perfectly in character and wonderfully alive. Those moments are so awesome!

 

Several years ago I decided I wanted to track down an SD13 Amakusa. I was perfectly content to get one with the default faceup, but I came across an Amakusa with what looked like a pretty nice faceup on Yahoo Japan. His BIN was really reasonable so I went ahead and purchased him. About a week later he showed up on my doorstep and the moment I unwrapped his sweet, droopy-eyed face from the protector and bubblewrap I knew he was The One.

I've never had another doll give me the feeling my Amakusa did that first day. And even now I just have to look at him and he puts a smile on my face. I'd sell my holy grail doll (my Cristal) before I'd sell him, which is a ridiculous thought from every standpoint except a sentimental one XD.

 

I'd really like an Iplehouse doll; I love how realistic they are! I think the one I like most is their S.I.D. Theo.

 

Volks Kurumi. The minute her pictures went up on Volks USA I almost fainted. It took awhile to get but she is perfection.

 

Crobidoll Nao. I've been looking and lusting after him forever. He was my grail doll! I'd been looking at him from before I even got my first doll!

Happily, I got him for my birthday this year, and he's even more lovely in person than he was online.

 

Well i have had two experiences at least like that. My first was when i got my first doll...Dominick. it took betting the rihht wig and face and i was in love. My second most memorable was my oceanmoon hanee. I just was like Alice? Is that u love. Sne just tugged on me and i had to have her. She is one that it felt in the heart.

 

I had that strange feeling with all my dolls. And I bought them thanks to that XD
When I saw them I was really like "wow, I NEED him ". If I don't feel like that, I don't buy the doll ! And sometimes when I look one of my boy, I'm in love and think he is the most beautiful thing ever

 

When I got pics of my Zachary Quinto Minimee head from the face-up artist who did the face-up. I had sent the wig and eyes with the head so she could match the face-up to those. I had also requested she open the eyes so the head would have a half-open-eyed, arrogant kind of look. And gave her a reference-photo of Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy. Shortly after that, I came across a pic of Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Steerpike that was just perfect but since she'd already started on the face-up, I didn't mail it to her.

And then, I got the pics of the face-up. And was like "wow!!!" - cos together with the wig and eyes, the head looked just so much like Steerpike, it was amazing! I was, like, totally blown away because it was just so perfect! I mean, he's EXACTLY as he's supposed to be. No "oh well, this or that maybe could be changed just a bit". Nope. he's got the perfect eyes, the perfect wig, the body is perfect (though the resin match isn't really but that doesn't matter and I wouldn't exchange the body for another one). And the overall feeling that I get when I see him with those eyes and that wig is one of "this is IT!"

 

It was a Migidoll Ryu that first REALLY caught my eye, enough to go out of my way and ask "What kind of doll is this?" And that was how I got interested. I just looked at him and it was like he was someone I already knew. Familiar. Like we already had memories. And I... I'm going to be perfectly honest, when I got my first doll (a DiM MNM), I was actually kind of sad that it wasn't the old friend I never had. He ended up being a bit of an unexpected disaster...

So then, not four months after I got my first boy (keep in mind, he barely had clothes~), I bought my Ryu head, and switched out the old one and he sat in a box for another year with his damaged face and I felt AWFUL but then I just looked at Ryu and Ryu looked at me and he had a real attitude about being the one with the body, and I just knew that was the way it had to be. I LOVE my first doll, don't get me wrong, and he's off right now for an extreme makeover to be everything I originally wanted him to be - and my heart bleeds for him, but he's no Ryu. My MNM is like everything I find beautiful, something I positively craved in a doll... Ryu is plain at best... and yet, I'm fairly certain this little lad is The One.

 

I have had those moments, but they dont always last. I have had my ideal dolls for some years and then they have moved on. Soom Lazule was one of them but I did all I wanted with him and sold him on.
I would like 'the one' doll, Im hoping it will happen again.

 

I experience this perpetually with all of my dolls. Of course there are some moments where I figure they need a new faceup or an updated wardrobe, but nevertheless, they all seem to breathe to me. I typically plan out my dolls so once I find the right mold for the character I'm trying to portray, bam--there's hardly a force on earth that can change my mind about it. Either there needs to be something better or else; I won't settle for less than what I fall in love with.

 

In a way, you could say that ALL my dolls (the ones that I own and the ones that are still on my wishlist) could all be called "The One", considering me clicking with the doll is more or less required for me to buy a doll. I don't want to buy a doll "just because i should get a new doll" or "wow, this one's gorgeous, definitely taking him/her home!" or whatever. As Jayell put it, if I see a mold that just DOEs it for me, that just seem to breathe and seem so full of life to me, then that doll will definitely make its way home to me. Of course, I have a couple of dolls on my wish list that have grown to me over time, but they are so few that, well... let's just say that there is a reason I have the quote "I never choose dolls, it's the dolls that choose me" in my sig. Because it's true!

However, if I have tp pick out one, and only ONE that just screamed "Lovux" like no other doll have, it's without a doubt my Iplehouse Gentle Freezia. It was all thanks to her that I got into this hobby, after all. Before discovering her, I was very indifferent about BJDs and didn't think they were particularly interesting, but when I one day, bored as I was, decided to put "ball-jointed doll" on google and clicked "Iplehouse" among the search result... My fate was sealed the very moment I saw her. So not only is she special to me because she's my very first doll, but because she was also an ice-breaker, as I now find the hobby to be wonderful and I think all dolls I see are unbelieveably gorgeous (as opposed to my previous stance on them which could be summarized with "Meh, looks cute, I guess").

 

The first doll i "fell in love with" was a MNF shushu I had no experience whit BJDs and all the sites where you can buy them so i lost fairylands website xD And she was going to be my first doll. But when i did'nt find the site, i bought a Kid delf Cherry insted.
about six dolls and two years later i just did it, i bougth my dream doll! And now when i own her, she really is my favorit doll! So, she is "the one" for me! ^^

 

The first doll I fell in love with was a Volks Tony. I had actually been prepared to order a Luts Cyber Bohemian Shiwoo, but then Volks released him and I knew he was going to be the one. I really hadn't intended on spending that much on a doll, but when I kept looking at company photos of him for a good 2 weeks and ignoring Shiwoo, I went ahead and got him.

He is totally the doll that I always end up getting stuff for and the rest of my dolls get hand me downs if they're close enough in size. I love all of my dolls, but my Volks Tony is extra special to me.

 

For me it was a Migidoll Cynical Yujin I happen to come across on the MP. I had a *Squee* moment...I didn't even know Migidoll existed ( I know how horrible of me!) and since I had been on an off looking for a doll for this character for...oh..forever and a week. I knew that moment I HAD to have him...and well now I do ^.^
