1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

The waiting game

Mar 20, 2022

    1. What is the longest you’ve waited for a bjd to come in?

    2. 6 months, but then I'm not a masochist like the Dollshe fans.

    3. My longest wait was from Doll Zone about a year and a half. That was sometime shortly be covid, which to be fair has slowed things down a lot. Over the last few years wait times from places have had a lot of flux, but even before that I was use to and ok with up to 6 months wait times. I am a very patient man, and have been in this hobby a long time so I can sit through most companies long waits. Be those 3 months or a year, just so long as I have an idea of how long the wait times are up front. (That said I'll never order a Dollshe doll as I do not think I could handle a 2 to 3 year wait.)

    4. 34 months and still waiting.
      Apparently I'm a masochist. Definitely not enjoying it though lmao

    5. bout a year and some odd months for some dollzone dolls. I got a doll from fairyland on order that is getting close to a year so she might end up beating the record from dollzone (bout a month from now.)

    6. I haven't really kept track, but I think about a year. Although, I'm fine waiting longer if it means I can pay the doll off slower that way I feel less guilty about the purchase.

      I think during the pandemic I waited about two years for a package unrelated to dolls, so I think I can wait at least two years for a doll if I had too.

      I think three+ years might be too hard to wait for me.

      Now I'm curious about the longest layaway everyone paid off on.

    7. Over 16 months for a 1k doll that was never ordered from the caster, had to fight to get a complete refund. Needless to say, I'm bitter.

    8. That can happen? I had no idea. Now I think I will get nightmares on that.

      Oh wait, I think I heard of something like that happening, but I forgot about it because it never happened to me. I think I saw something about it on instagram, but I didn't really look into it.

      Does it happen often?

      What was the name of the site? I know I read at least the doll site name that didn't send people their dolls. It was taken over after someone passed away? I remember thinking I should remember the name, so I never purchase from this seller... I can't recall. It was on someone's stories. I think the stories or was it a post mentioned the daughter took over? Does this sound familiar?

      I regret I didn't save the post now or was it a story... I should have looked more into it.

      @fairithilien

      I'm sorry that happened to you. It must have been horrible. I ordered some items from a trusted seller once unrelated to dolls and they went missing from social media and never completed my order. Luckily, I didn't send the money.

      May I ask which seller that did this to you, so I may avoid the seller? That is only if you are comfortable in sharing.

      @nyaaain

      I didn't even think about the paypal. That's good advice. Thanks.

    10. Currently in year 4 of waiting. Hit 3 years last November.

    11. 9 months. I love the doll I got, but I refuse to wait over 6 months for any doll again. I do not like any other doll enough to endure that wait and it's not safe to let the PayPal protection period expire.

      This thread should also serve as a reminder for anyone with an open Dollshe order to send him your weekly complaint email. Don't let him forget your orders!

    12. Year-ish is the longest I've waited. I no longer have the record of exactly when it was ordered vs when it was shipped, but it was Doll Chateau.

    13. 14 months for my Impldolls, but they were on a year's layaway, so actually, that wasn't bad. I have a couple of Ringdolls on a year layaway because I'm insane. Hopefully I'll get them before they haul me off to the old folk's home.

    15. A bit over a year for my Ringdoll orders, apparently I'm really good at picking companies with reasonable wait times.

      For doll stuff in general? I had to wait two years for a couple of grab bags of clothes because of Covid. Couldn't ship them because HK said no, finally like two months ago ground shipping opened up and they just started heading over here like 2 weeks ago. Might be more like 2 and a half years at this point. Man I hope I like something in those grab bags!

    16. Four months, I think? Most of my dolls were purchased secondhand, and the few that weren't were either by companies known to ship fast (Iplehouse), or at the very least, still retain a reasonable timeframe (Fairyland). Honestly, anything longer than six months or so is outright unreasonable to me, but I might be in the minority there.

    17. 13 months for Doll Chateau Pluto and Doll Zone Cyborg Zero but I was expecting at least an 8 month+ wait for those dolls so not unsurprising. The most frustrating was 12 months for two Ringdoll heads as one of them wasn't faced up due to the artist deciding to not do that particular face up anymore during the wait (and RD not bothering to say what happened for refund until I chased them up on it) :sigh

    18. @fairithilien : how can that happen? :?
      I am waiting for my first and my second Doll (Ringdoll since December 21, and Flame since February this year)

    19. 8.5 months for a DC head with faceup, hahaha. xD

    20. Gross irresponsibility and bad business practice on the part of the artist. She forgot to put in my doll order with the caster and only realized once all the cast dolls arrived. So i waited 16+ months for a "hey, oops." And then I was not fully refunded because currency exchange rates had changed. I threw a stink until I got all my money back, but I still very much recommend against buying from Twigling. I had a public review thread about the situation on here at one point, I dont know why it's been deleted, I really think it should be out there so that people know what they're risking when they do business with her.
