1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Those of you with kids - do you look for/have dolls that look like them?

Nov 25, 2014

    1. I have two little girls - and they are just gorgeous. I have "mini-me's" of them in the off topic doll I collect, but I'm seriously contemplating getting a bjd version as well. Does anyone else do this?

    2. I don't have kids, but I think that would be adorable! Especially since you can customize the BJDs to add to their likeness!

    3. I don't have a bjd to represent my son, but I have considered getting one of my dolls a son to honor that relationship between us, especially as he's approaching his teenage years.

    4. I think one day, I wouldn't mind having a matchy-matchy outfits day with my future-child and doll, hehe. I know I want to look like my doll for pictures some time, so I could see it, yeah.

    5. Not exactly. I did buy a cute BJD specifically to wear downsized baby clothes I'd made and saved from when my daughter was a baby (she's 32 now). I wasn't looking for a doll that looked like my daughter, just one I thought was cute. That being said, I've also purchased a doll because it reminded me of the pouty expressions of one of my grandchildren. But I purposely chose a boy doll, since my granddaughter and her mother sometimes check out my website, and I doubt they'd be pleased.
