Back in the days, the company DIM (Doll in MInd) had a Minimee service where people can get together to order heads of celebrities in small runs (somewhere in the 10's). There were a lot of different Vkei celebrities who received the Minimee tribute. There was at least 3 different Gackt heads (if I remember correctly), Atsushi Sakurai, some of the guys from l'Arc en Ciel, Shou and Tora from Alice Nine, Kyo from Die en Grey. Natrume has a Minimee-like service where celebrity heads were casted. I am not as familiar with them and I am not sure if any VKei heads were casted through this route. But someone else can elaborate.

As for me, I can't afford any of the official ones. And I wasn't around when DIM was offering their Minimee services. I am presently in the (very, very long) process of building my own fan-versions of Mana and Kamijo. I am a little further ahead on the Mana front. I found a dress that he did in collaboration with Hatsune Miku that was produced by Volks for the Miku Dollfie Dream. I've also got a very dark blue twin-tail wig, too (just got to put the curls in myself). I'm ordering eyes from Legend doll because they had a set with blue roses as irises. I know this is all "not exactly Mana", but I have a feeling that if I put them all together and with the right face-up, it'll be a somewhat visibly-recognizable Mana.

Very interested in this topic a future doll I'm currently planning is going to be very vkei influenced, particularly the 80s & 90s looks~

I feel like Mana is definitely the artist that mainly comes to mind, which is fitting considering how intermingled Lolita/Gothic Lolita was with early bjd culture

 

The Volks Hyde is one I really want but the price is quite hefty ^^; I see some people do their own customs using the school head A which also looks similar to Hyde.

 

I'd love to see home made pics of Hyde's Volks doll! I only saw the official photos. I remember people having Acchan, Diru and Mana dolls made with skulls with similar features.

I would love a 1/4 Toshiya myself! But I can't manage to find a sculpt in that size

 

I’m pretty sure there’s a few accounts on instagram who have the Hyde doll! Some of the restylings are gorgeous on him it makes me so jealous
