1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Various opinions on different dolls/sculpts~

Jul 7, 2014

    1. Do any of you guys have any opinion on type of dolls or certain sculpts? Positive or Negative opinions, just any at all, as long as there's nothing mean or insulting! I like seeing a variety of opinions on different dolls and sculpts. :)

      - Personally, I dislike Blythe dolls but that's only because I have a thing about the large, staring eyes which makes me feel uncomfortable. My friend's Blythe doll is actually dressed quite cute, but the staring eyes puts me off, and I wouldn't buy one myself. -

:aheartbea :daisy !!Each to their own opinion remember!! :daisy :aheartbea

    2. I first got into this hobby collecting only Dollfie Dreams and I thought resin dolls were a bit creepy.
Now pretty much nothing creeps me out or disturbs me. I've seen sculpts I thought were ugly look beautiful with proper mods and refaceup (Volks I'm looking at you). I think almost all sculpts can be beautiful in someway or another.

Except Dollfie Dream Amami Haruka. I'm a huge fan of the character but her big, wide open mouth seriously creeps me out.
I find any of DC's dolls to be more normal than that mouth. :XD: (Love them, by the way!)

    3. I really love willowy, curvy, defined bodies. None of the "tube forms" for me, thanks. I'm also not into anime, so the anime-style dolls are less appealing to me than the average fashion doll.

    4. I like a more realistic look. My favourites are the Iplehouse sculpts. Their male sculpts are really fantastic, very masculine. The Soom Dia boys are also gorgeous. I'd love to have one some day.

    5. Love love love anime styled dolls! Volks Kurumi + Dolfie dream option head 01 are a couple of my favourite sculpts. Fairylands Marcia is AMAZING too. (hence why I had to have them all :D)

Not a huge fan of super realistic dolls such as iplehouse. I find them extremely beautiful but much too realistic for my taste.

    6. I don't get the appeal of Luts. I mean, yeah, they make nice dolls and all, but they're all so...same-y. But then again, I guess the same could be said of every company who only makes anime-style sculpts. And while I love most of Iplehouse's dolls, some of them creep me out.

    7. I like a lot of different dolls! I tend to prefer more cartoon-y females with large eyes and more realistic males with definitively masculine builds. The only dolls I'm not particularly fond of are dolls that look like they're crying, no matter what angle you take a picture at, and the Unoa yawning faceplate.

    8. I love realistic looks, curvy girls, thin boys, shorter SD boys (56-58cm), thick lips, large noses, smaller eyes, detailed bodies, big male hands, long nails on girls. As for companies, I really like Iplehouse, Soom and Migidoll.

I don't like childish SD sculpts, poor posing, bodies with too many joints to be aesthetically pleasing, large eyes (over 16mm), bodies that lack detail, tiny hands, anime sculpts or open mouth sculpts. Most of this is just preference, but the wide open mouths (like PongPong or yawning faces) just kind of disturb me. I'm also not a fan of very stylized companies, like Fairyland, Luts, FDoll, Bobobie and similar, though I have seen some individuals do amazing things with this dolls. :)

    9. It can be very interesting to find out why people like or dislike certain sculpts, but this topic is really far too broad for general discussion. Please feel free to look in the company specific discussion threads for any companies you are interested in for owner views, or you can look around other general discussion threads which focus on owner opinions of specific features and sculpts.

As this thread, however, is far too broad to be on topic, it is being closed.
