Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. Volks FCS F31

    1. I am getting a head done by Sleep Pattern and in her portfolio is a face for a Volks F-31. I loved it. But can't seem to find any information about it anywhere....Anybody have an info for me?

    5. The one I saw had elf ears, but I wasn't sure if that was a mod or not. The Volks site is not very good unless you want to buy any of their standard dolls, unless I am just not very good at navigating it. Is the head still available? Is it really hard to find, if not. I still haven't had a chance to check out the link that audiencekiller sent.....Sorry so newbie :D

    6. O.K., hit the site and found out that the ears are interchangable. I went to the Volks site again to see if I could get a look at the bodies that go with the heads. Are all the Volks bodies so immature? It listed the bust size as L or L-01, but I don't see where there is an option to change it. What other bodies do the Volks heads go with?

    7. You have to order one of the SD or SD13 bodies with your Full Choice so you will have either find another head to put on it to make a second full doll or sell the SD/SD13 body and use the extra money towards the body you need.

      Volks does make more mature bodies (SD16 girl, SD17 boy and the new SDGR) but they are only released as full set limited edition dolls for Dolpas. You would either have buy a whole limited doll and use the body for your Full Choice head (which I have done twice) or buy a body second hand. Back when Volks was the only company making these dolls the SD and SD13 type were the most mature doll you can get adn they are still popular, it's mostly newer companies that have tackled the super realistic/mature look.

      If you want to see which other body types work with Volks FCS head (which can change depending on the head sculpt) try doing some title only keyword searches in the Gallery subforum for - F31 -. If you can't find anything, start a picture request thread. F31 heads are make to be boy heads so you'll need something with a neck size comparable to an SD13 boy.

    8. I can't help but chuckle a little as I read this; I'm a sucker for this head as well, but would also want to put it on a different body. SD16girl, in my case, since I think that head would make a dazzlingly attitude-laden, imperious girl. And it's so pretty in that sunlight tone -- but I don't even think there's been a sunlight SD16 that I know of. So if such a thread is spawned, I will gladly peek its way. :)

    9. Volks SD13 boy heads fit SD16 girl bodies really well - I have an SD16 F36 girl. There's a small gap but it's not really obvious. The head to body proportion are very good.

      So far the 16 girl has been all normal skin with the exception of Ruby who is a special ebony skin and Johanna who is white skin. If they release an tan SD16 POUNCE ON IT! if only to get the body. >_> A tan SD16 F31 girl would be gorgeous.

      Volks heads will fit on Dollstown bodies (I think the 15 girls and 15 boys wear them best) and Dollstown does make a few skintones but I can't remember off the top of my head which skin tones match Volks. Some batches of Luts Senior Delf realskin have been known to match but it's hit or miss if you'll get the right batch.

It's hilarious this thread popped up, because I had just been describing this crazy scheme in PMs the other day. :lol: That combination is the one of all the Volks dolls that makes me say, "Yes, I would need to have that if it was possible... " Naturally, that combo is... well, there would probably be cheaper options, and by that I mean 'in the form of highly sought-after limiteds' once two dolls being spliced that would both require some hoop-jumping to get are involved, but that's the one face of theirs that just makes me say, "YES!!"

      ...I just feel uncomfortable with anything young-looking to my eye, and really like the mature bodies.

      Hearing that it would work on the head fitting is a step, though, and a big one. The head wouldn't be too much of an issue -- a pain in the rump to track down an FCS Sato shopping service, but that's theoretically possible -- but I had been wondering if the head would fit one of those bodies and unsure. I suppose I'm still safe... until they release a sunlight SD16. Then all bets are off. *shakes a fist at the sky*

      Do you know if they'd sell that head with an SD13 girl body? Admittedly, I probably wouldn't even try until the body in the right skin tone appears some day off in the future, but that would be good to know in case it happens to have a lovely head that might work for a 'little sister' for a direct swap.

    11. Oh yeah. They'll sell you an FCS head with any SD or SD13 body you want even if it really doesn't fit! :doh

      I got my F36 on an SD13 girl body (medium bust) and she looked pretty odd 'n bobbley but I planned to give the body to a head I've had floating around for over a year and already had the SD16 waiting. It's pretty satisfying to pull a doll like this together.

    12. In a way, that is good to know. The ways of Volks sometimes elude me. :lol: I just really, really like that head. The F36 is the other, actually, that I though doing something like this would be brilliant with, so I am relieved to hear it worked!

      I'll definitely keep an eye out for any potential releases of sunlight SD16s, then.

      I adore strong female faces, and it just seems that it'd be spot on perfect for that.
