It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. What are you Doll Plans for 2013?

Dec 13, 2012

    1. I went hunting for one and couldn't find one so thought 'what the hell' and thought I'd start it up! :D

2012 was the year where it felt like I had loads of new arrivals and my collection has certainly increased a lot this past year and is definitely set to get bigger before the end of it! I can't even remember my own list of things to get done but I know for certain I probably didn't reach my target!
With the end of December looming, I'm already looking ahead with lots of new plans for next year and I'm looking for inspiration :aheartbea

      So then everyone:

What are your Dolly Plans for 2013?

    2. Heh, I feel like my doll population kind of exploded this year too! My plans for 2013 are:

      1. Slow down the doll buying! I need to focus on the ones I have. :sweat
      2. Get more outfits and shoes for the dolls I have. Everyone currently has at least one outfit and one pair of shoes, but it would be nice to have more to choose from, especially for my YOSD sizes. Also, continue knitting for my little guys, and maybe learn to sew.
      3. Get better at face-ups. I did my first face earlier this month, and after 5 tries it looks... okayish. But I'd really like to improve, and I'll probably wipe and redo her face again when the weather's warmer.
      4. Concentrate on setting up rooms/scenes for the dolls. I already have a couple of pieces of furniture, but I'd like to get more, and construct some walls and floors to have nice settings for photos. Speaking of photos...
      5. Get better at photography! I am a really mediocre to terrible photographer. I need to practice more and get some decent shots.
      and lastly
      6. Thin the herd out a bit...maybe? I don't really want to part with any of them, but the tinies have been getting neglected in favor of the MSDs lately, so it may be time to rehome. Also, it will make me feel like less of a dolly hoarder. :doh

    3. I'm also with you. So many dolls arrived in 2012. *_*

      1. Buy bodies for my floating heads.
      2. Get Damian painted.
      3. Buy Tahir, and maybe Hunter or Jess.
      4. Get the perfect outfit for Andrew.
      5. Lots of shoes!
      6. Try hands at face-ups again.
      7. Practice my sewing skills some more.
      8. Buy a camera!!
      9. Post more pictures.
      10. Stop buying more dolls for a while. :sweat

    4. 1. Get more dolls
      2. Practice poses
      3. Learn to do face-ups so I can spend less money on those and more on dolls
      4. Get a nice outfit for my existing dolls

    5. I think it's time to re-evaluate my collection and the direction I want to go. At least one of my dolls needs to be reshelled and another lost his character.

      So, plans for 2013:
      1) Make real clothes for Keilin. He's been in cosplay since I got him... 2 years ago...
      2) Clothes for Lulu - She's wearing a handkerchief right now.
      3) Face-ups for everyone who needs them.
      4) Decide which dolls are going and which are staying.
      5) Figure out where to store dolls in my apartment.

    6. My plans are to sew, paint, photograph, and stop buying. I have enough...time to play instead of buying them more friends.

    7. 1. Get the two dolls (plus a floating head) I have planned for this year. A body would be nice too, but alas.
      2. Make more clothes still! I need to get better at this!
      3. I've got the camera (finally!) now time to practice some photography...

    8. I feel like I've got too many BJDs (over 50 now - gulp) and want to focus on the dolls I have so:

      1. Make every BJD I own an outfit complete with accessories - hat, shoes etc.
      2. I signed up for shoe making and hat courses. The shoe course has finished - in 2013 I want to put these courses to use.
      3. Research more historically accurate outfits for my dolls.

I plan to focus on making the dolls I have look better rather than buying more of the same.

    9. This year I want to:
Rethink my collection and maybe rehome some dollies that don't get played with much. I think my two tinies are moving on.

Everyone else seems to want to dress their dollies, but I want them to spend more time in their undies :) I noticed that I play with them more when they aren't fully dressed in fancy outfits.

Stop justifying doll purchases by telling myself I need models for my Etsy shop. I have a bunch of dolls; all the sizes are covered.

Pay off my two layaways and hopefully not start any more, except:

I have like 10 girls and no boys, and I think it is time for me to get a boy doll.

    10. My doll plan for 2013 is to get my first BJD, which is going to be a Dreaming Doll Airi :)
I was gonna get her at the beginning of this year, but that didnt happen. :|

    11. My doll plans are:

      1. Finally decide to buy a doll, which is going to be a Iplehouse Eva
      2. Finally finish making my unoa lusis hybrid

not as much but hey! its a start

    12. Not a whole lot, unfortunately. I see some life changes on the horizon that will affect the financials, and the doll I'll get in the next week or so is probably going to be my last doll of any kind for a while. I may get or try to make clothes. Getting clothes will cost some money, but it wouldn't break the bank. Making clothes is, in theory, cheaper, but I've got next to now experience doing such a thing, so it would probably end up costing more money than just buying clothes.

I may get an MDD3 body and a few accessories to complete her if the MDD3 body is good. I've heard the MDD2 isn't that great, but I really want to do something with this extra DD head I've got. It might end up being cost effective, too. I'll have clothes more or less sized for the body because my next doll is also going to be mini sized, but I'll need eyes and a few other things. Still, it would be nice for my new mini girl to have a friend to play with when she's not hanging out with her big sister.

    13. 1) Improve on posing for pictures.
      2) Limit my spending on clothes >.<
      3) Organize the collection of clothes properly.

    14. Must get a Rise Kujikawa DD! ...Obtained before the new year :D!

That or just save up for the next Volks DD that I'd like to try and win :)

    15. 1. I would like to get at least two boy dolls next year (currently thinking Doll Family Nan Gong or Damien - I would love Dollshe Saint if possible...)
      2. Better camera for taking pictures of BJDs

    16. Improve my sewing skills.
      Improve my photography skills.
Prioritize my doll wish list and figure out what I can really afford and what I can really find space for.
      Improve my face up skills.
      Learn to make wigs.
Buy really good eyes for my doll(s).
      Maybe start a doll blog...
wow. that's actually kind of a lot. :o

    17. get a body for my floating head
Get a wig for floating head
      Eyes for the floating head
get a tan floy from DZ
Get my boy Arwen a violet fern outfit
oh my so much dollie stuff so little time.

    18. 1. Stop lurking moar around here, I've missed a lot!
      2. Finish several uncompleted dolly projects, in no particular order:
      - Bodies for all five floating heads.
      - Finish a wig that's been incomplete since 2009
      - Have three of my blank heads faceupped
      - Get together at least two more of my wishlist and rebalance the frigging gender ratio around here :XD:

      ETA: NOPE. Not happening.

    19. Finally get my Dollzone Ray a body, and buy a Doll Love Kaja for my little executioner.

    20. 1 - Ease up on the doll-buying/take a break from buying if possible/when buying go for floating parts options if it's available. Because much as I love my SD-size dolls, they are heavy and make my plans to move more difficult. Plus, I'll have plenty to focus on here.

      2 - Take more photographs.

3 - Work on what I have here in the way of faceups and mod projects and sewing that needs to be done.

4 - Buy what clothing I can't effectively sew myself.

5 - Buy bods for my growing army of floating heads. Because that way I'm still having dolls to tinker with, but they're ones whose heads have already been around and it should be cheaper than the cost of a full new doll.

I think that about sums it up. At least from this vantage point.
