1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What would you do if Den of Angels shut down permanently?

    1. *If there is another thread like this, feel free to merge them!:daisy

Not like this is going to happen anytime soon, but what would you do? Personally, I would cry a little (a lot) and search for a new BJD forum.

    2. Hi, you may want to close/delete this topic and move it to its rightful section (General Discussion), as this section is for members to share and comment on box openings. If you're unsure as to how to do it, I'm sure the mod for this section will help you out.

    3. I'd be upset but I'm already on another BJD forum and I'd have that one at least.

    4. I would find other social media websites to use and communicate.
There are also other very nice forums.

    5. Oh, sorry about that!!!! :dohI'm not too sure how to close a thread, so I can't really do anything yet... sorry again!!! :sorry

    6. I would be very upset, even though I know and belong to several other sites for BJD. DoA has such an expansive, diverse community and wonderful resources. I think that it would be a pretty big loss. Hopefully we'll never have to worry about it tho. :)

    7. I would be pretty upset. I've tried other social media sites, but I just don't like them as much as DoA. I like the tons of information, pictures, meet up section, and marketplace here. I also like that this place is relatively drama free and stays on topic, without having to go through pages of off topic chatter to find what I need here. I wouldn't really know where to begin to start over, and I think it might actually cause me to cut back a lot on the hobby, without access to just about anything I need in one site.

    8. I would be a bit upset because the market place on this site is a lot better than selling thru groups on facebook. Plus, it's the only way for me to find meets around me or set one up at a con. So I'd feel even more alone in the hobby because finding fellow bjd pals would be a lot harder.

    9. I'd be sad and bored, and unsure of what do even do with the hobby.
      DoA inspires me...
also.. the market place is such an enabler. xD

    10. I'd get over it. I don't think I'd be particularly upset anyway and, to be honest, I don't think I'd really even care that much. There are a lot of BJD forums out there, many of which are much more friendly, open-minded and inclusive.

The marketplace would probably be the only thing I'd miss, but I don't think it'd take long for something else to spring up and fill the void.

    11. I'd be quite upset because the community has taught me so much and I made some nice friends here. I don't know any people in real life who also own BJD so I'd be a sad and lonely girl regarding the hobby. I have yet to find a community as open and helpful as the people here on DoA. Let us hope a shutdown is not in the future.

    12. It would be a challenge to adjust because I like browsing the marketplace (though I really shouldn't be doing that anyway), and I also enjoy reading threads and looking at all the pretty pictures. But I'd get over it eventually.

    13. I think it would be a big loss. The marketplace is great and the help I got when first starting out was invaluable. Besides what would I do when I was bored without it :)??

    14. I think I'd mostly just miss the extent of information available here; there's a lot of educational resources all in one place that'd be hard to duplicate elsewhere. There's other forums I can go to, though, and I'd get over it after a while, just as I got over the closing of my free MMO after a while, and found something else to do with that time.

    15. I'd probably have to confine myself to only buying entire dolls, because all the information on hybriding would be gone.

    16. THIS.

Also ditto everyone who said the Marketplace! Even if I have absolutely no intention to buy anything, I will usually check it every day or other day...it's something of a stress reliever for me, no idea why.

I would be sad if DoA were no more. :/

    17. I love looking at pictures, congratulating people on their new dolls, and discussing upcoming releases, but in the end I can do the hobby on my own. I tend to buy directly from the company these days, so I could survive without the MP. I would be sad about it though, I think browsing DoA in general is a stress-reliever for me and I enjoy being here :)

    18. I would be incredibly sad and feel very alone without my DoA friends and the interactions. No one I know, no one at all within a two hours drive of me has or probably has even heard of ball jointed dolls.

I would not have access to all of the awesome customized dolls I have bought on the marketplace or any real way to learn about the art form. I think DoA is the single largest contributing factor to the spread of BJDs and actually has enabled artists to find a niche that would otherwise not exist. IMO if DoA was gone then the hobby and the ever increasing involvement by people everywhere would become much less than it is currently.:...(

    19. Probably cry because this is where I learn and see the most!! And without fellow doll lovers sharing their knowledge and their beautiful dolls.... I would die of loneliness I guess HAHAH.

Then again, I hope we can set up another forum or something similar to connect all bjd lovers.

    20. DOA gets a lot of flak on other forums. But I don't see that negativity, so I have to think people choose what they want to see when it comes to such a large forum. I met others outside DOA that would certainly ruin things if I let it bother me (a shocking amount actually), but avoid drama in my hobbies so appreciate a civil vibe.

I love DOA. The buying, selling, photos, news...it's a huge part of the hobby and I come here about daily. I can't keep up with all the rules tho :sweat
