  2. Dollshe Craft and all dolls created by Dollshe, including any dolls created under his new or future companies, including Club Coco BJD are now banned from Den of Angels. Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD. This ban does not apply to other company dolls cast by Dollshe as part of a casting agreement between him and the actual sculpt or company and those dolls may still be discussed on the forum. What's the appropriate course of action...

    1. When you see someone posting a "Recast volks doll for sale!" deviation on Deviantart? I scrolled through all the report this deviation options, and nowhere is there a "this person is encouraging other people to break the law" option. Should I email Volks, and tell them? Should I report it on Deviantart, even though there is no reporting illegal activity option?


      (wish my account was new enough to post this in Newbieland instead : /)

    2. I would say report it to both. Everytime i find recasts on ebay, i notify both ebay and the original company

    3. Report to both. You can report the person to DA by going through the help desk when there's no fitting option in the report menu. Just make sure you copy the proper link to the content you are wanting to report and give a full description of WHY you are wanting them to look at the content, and that there is no appropriate option for it in the 'report' menu.

      Respectively, this means you should also contact every person you see selling a knockoff of any kind. Be careful when referring to legality when it's a gray area like this.

    5. I'd notify at least Deviantart and probably Volks too, like it was said above. Deviantart could remove the offender's account, and Volks might be able to pursue legal action.

    6. Volks dolls have Volks 'VS' stamps inside their heads and usually inside hand and foot parts and sometimes inside joints. These stamps are transferred in recasts. When someone describes their recast as a 'Company X Doll' they are calling it by the trademarked name and usually intend for the doll to pass as legit to the unwary. There is no grey area here, it is illegal.

      If you ever see a recast for sale offsite, please inform the site the doll is being sold through (Ebay, Etsy etc...) and also inform the company with a link back to the sale. You could also PM a moderator here or post in Ask the Moderators to let us know so that we can update our banned dolls list.
