What's the most dolls you've purchased at one time?

I was trying really hard to remember if I ever ordered more than one at a time .. I think technically no but it depends how you see it maybe. My memory is foggy but I think once I ordered one full doll + extra head. Yeah pretty extreme I know

 

Before I got into this hobby I had substantial difficulty with the act of spending money, psychologically. I'm getting back to that point again sadly (it's helpful currently but it will be sad if I don't readjust if/when my situation improves) so it's you know, different strokes for different folks. I can only handle the stress of so much money or so many items at once I think.

 

2 but both times I did that, they were tinies and released at the same time.

3 and it was because they were being discontinued at the same time....

 

Ordering at the same time, I would have to say 2. And I’ve certainly done that more than once through the years. But putting things on layaway, overlapping orders placed individually over a few months time, it’s not unusual for me to have 3 running at once. Naughty, I know!

 

I voted other because I did not know how to quantify it... I one time purchased from a dear friend who was cleaning house, 3 full dolls and 5 heads at one time (I was only able to purchase so many because they were priced very affordably). It had to come in two different boxes because the order was so large. One of the most labor intensive box openings but, it was like Christmas morning, I'll never forget it!!!

But... direct from a company, only 2 dolls. Usually brand new dolls are way too expensive to afford more than 2 at a time on my personal budget.

 

In one order, one, but I've had 2 overlapping layaways placed at different times with different dealers. It's not really financially feasible to do much more than that, and I don't have a burning need for that many dolls anyway

 

I purchased two at one time. My sweet Iplehouse EID Jessica and my beloved Iplehouse SID Eva. The payment wouldn't go through since it was too much, so I had to call my bank! They let it go through after confirming that it was legitimate. It was just a little over $1,500 including shipping, IIRC.

 

My biggest order is a current one - I have 2 whole dolls, and 3 bodies from the same company. So whether that counts as two, or 5, I'm not sure. It's a doll/body that I haven't been able to find before, and I wanted to just get it all out of my system in case I can't order again in the future (not sure if it's on/off topic for DoA as I don't see the company mentioned anywhere...?)

edit: I've been super unhinged lately though, probably in the past 2 months I've bought...I think 7 dolls secondhand? it's just that the aforementioned order is all simultaneous from a dealer/the manufacturer.

 

I chose "other" because it's really hard to define for me.

Bought in the same order? Maybe 2? Or one and an extra body or head or something.

Had on layaway at once in different orders? Maybe 3, I used to stagger my layaway orders.

Had paid off but not home yet due to long wait times, maybe three.

Waiting to be completed either due to layaway, wait times or a hybrid with one part home and one part not....several.

 

I did my homework for a long time before I jumped into the hobby -this website gave me the education I needed about recasts and coa's, etcetera, so when I did jump I made a big splash! I bought 3 at once and they all arrived on the same day!

 

It's hard to tell. I vote 2, but in fact it was once a doll+ a head and once two bodies.
Oh wait! Once, when Custom House became Ai Doll, they offered a head for any full doll ordered, and a second body for half the price. So I got two full dolls in one order but paid a ridiculously low amount for them.

 

I put 2 as it said 'purchased'... received 3 as third was a freebie special deal

 

I ordered four at one time but, two were for me, one for my sister and one for my niece, but I paid for them all as they were gifts, so not sure if that is what the original question is trying to determine.

 

I bought two at once. Their characters are married and, as silly as it may be, it felt wrong to buy one without the other so I just saved until I could afford to buy both at the same time.

 

In a single order? Just one. But concurrent, welll... THAT would be right now, as I have 6 1/2 coming in over the next few months (the 1/2 being a body for a head I already have). But this IS very unusual for me... probably a once in a lifetime occurrence.

 

Bought two dolls about ten days apart from each other (the FOMO got me down badly here). Never purchased more than one in a single order though.

 

I've done 2 tinies twice, and an MSD with a pet once. I've had up to 3 overlapping ordered dolls though.
