1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Your Favorites Funiture and Props

Dec 12, 2014

1. Mod's feel free to move or delete.:)
Ok, so I'm a big fan of dioramas and the lovely props and furniture that fill them ^.^ I think it's actually going to be my biggest weakness in the hobby:sweat I might even try my hand at making a few things one day. Personally, the scale doesn't really matter to me, as long as it's nothing crazy. At the moment my favorite thing is an armoire and wicker chest, it's a bit small for scale though ^.^

So here's some questions:
Whats your favorite prop/furnishing you own? What size is it?
Out of scale, in scale, does it matter?
Would love pictures!

2. Whats your favorite prop/furnishing you own? What size is it?
Suitcase and weapons stash. Both sized for EID and Idealians.

Out of scale, in scale, does it matter?
Yeah...the scale does matter coz if it doesn't fit the doll, no point in buying.

Haven't got a pic of the suitcase yet...never got around to my traveling-themed photoshoot.

3. I can't think of one favorite off the top of my head, but I have an OT doll who's in the same scale as my Pukifees and they share the bookcase I turned into an apartment.

(For those who have the Pukifee sizes - the wooden "Hitty" dolls are in the same scale and many things sized for them will fit Pukifees.)

I try to keep things more or less in scale, but because my dolls are all supposed to be small dolls (or elementals) living in a human-scale world, it's not as critical that items be perfectly scaled to their size. That gives me some freedom to go with a fun, "Borrowers"-type setup - if that makes sense.

4. What's your favorite prop/furnishing you own? What size is it?

I actually don't own any doll furniture but I've been eyeballing the house set from Ikea ^^ The couch and chair look really cute! But might be too small for my SD girlie. I have a weakness for really ornate, neo-Victorian types of styles. I also love to-scale books!

5. Great responses so far. Would love to see more :)

yuan_mdx, Those are really cool! I had to do a double take on your doll, thought he was human for a second!

@, LadyMadrigal, How cute :aheartbea
Digitallyrhi, I also love neo-Victorian styles, there really cool to look at

6. Whats your favorite prop/furnishing you own? What size is it?
The SD to MSD scale Xbox360 (a gift card holder) and the controller (flat pendant slightly modified). There are also Mountain Dew bottles and cans (all lip balms) I got the other day...they seem to go hand in hand, with similar scales too!

Out of scale, in scale, does it matter?
So long as it's close! Though, sometimes, having things crazily out of scale is fun too!

Would love pictures!

7. Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but what's the average scale for MSD props? My research suggests 1:6, but can someone point me in the right direction, or to some companies with known props for MSD sized dolls?

8. MSD is 1/4th scale! YoSD is more of a 1/6th scale...SD is 1/3 scale.

9. For someone who doesn't like guns or weapons that are real.... I seem to enjoy my dolls when they have weapons, guns, knives, daggers, swords, armour. Oh and attitude. :)

10. I love armor! The new tarot armor from souldoll looks really cool. I'm thinking about ordering a set, but it is a little pricy so I'm still thinking.

11. @Ziizi as mentioned in a post above, MSD's are around 1/4 scale. You can look at anything from American Girl, Our Generation, "18 in doll furniture/props" in general, thrift shops, etc...

12. I love to collect props! I don't have real furniture yet, but i'm working on that.
Thrift stores are perfect for prop-shopping and almost all my props are second hand.

-Whats your favorite prop/furnishing you own? What size is it?
I think the small clock on the picture below and the Chinese tea set.

-Out of scale, in scale, does it matter?
I prefer 1/3 size since my 1/3 doll is a adult and the 1/4 is a child, but 1/4 size is for some reason easier to find so I have a lot of 1/4 scale props.
For example both tea sets are 1/4 size.
Luckily are clocks and vases for humans available in so many sizes. The same goes for dolls. A 1/4 scale vase can be used for a 1/3 size doll.

A dresser. Can be used for both 1/3 and 1/4. It is my jewelry stash now but I'll repaint it and use it for my dolls.

13. My Pipos Cheshire cat has a miniature replica of one of Tutankhamun's thrones. It is a favorite. I love dolly props madly, I have all kinds of stuff: a dining table and chairs, brocade couches and chairs, tea sets, wine glasses, silver ware, books, cook ware, rocking chairs, lots of doll food, a park bench, guns, swords... etc. I adore anything miniature. I am bug nuts fanatic about having things in perfect scale, I keep a ruler under my keyboard so I can make sure I am ordering things precisely the right scale, and usually have a tape measure in my pocket... because you just never know what you might find at a flea market or a second hand store.

14. Ooo good idea, I should carry a tape measure with me next time I go second hand shopping. Normally I just guesstimate, which usually doesn't work out too well.:sweat I just love looking at photostories and pictures with elaborate props and furniture stuffs.

15. My favorite prop?

No contest. That has to be Tien Jen's 1/3-scale, working zheng...

It can be tuned and played just like my full-sized one.

16. Brightfires, thats honestly awesome o.o I had to search what the instrument was, I regret nothing it sounds wow.

17. Brightfires your scene is wonderful.

No props yet. I saw some beanbag furniture I want to make for my dolls. They do have their own collection of Beanies however. The Beanie Baby Happy Meal toys are perfect size for BJDs. I have quite a few of those. My Genesis (Tumnus) is cuddling a mini Ty Canadian Bear as I type this.
