Provenance:

Purchased from an international lottery winner who made other plans before the doll even shipped, so I was the first person to open the box but I don't have owner's rights with Volks.

Reason for choice:

Volks finally made the right face on the right body.

Previously Anastasia was a Delf Miyu, a Fairyland Ashley and a SoulDoll Karin. So glad to be done with the search!

Best Points:

Her face. Her hands. Her silhouette is so great with the small bust.

Worst Points:

Hip and knee joints are not as mobile as I'd like. Would love some high heel feet for the regular legs instead of the high heel legs.

Anastasia grew up surrounded by tangible luxuries but little ethical or emotional guidance. Her parents invested a vast fortune to illegally genetically engineer a “perfect” child, and she is endowed – for good or ill – with the additional abilities to read minds and manipulate matter. Training and empathy was lacking as her parent's relationship ended in violence and divorce. She carries herself with the ease afforded by a classical education in the arts, but ballet, cello and poetry did not have the calming effect her parents hoped for. She is a shameless hedonist with no interest in carrying on her family line despite being the only "legitimate" heir.
Her disregard for the needs of others has finally been tempered by falling in love, however, and she is very protective of her boyfriend. They share a home together and her family is hopeful that she will finally consider settling down, but Anastasia and Lex generally avoid discussing marriage and each have lovers of their own gender on the side. She is generally cold and distant to all but her close friends, most of whom are her cousins since they share a bond of growing up in an insular and deeply weird environment (Lex jokes that it's a cult), and she spends most of her private time absorbed in whatever artistic project has caught her fancy that season.
