Aubergine

Maker:
Aimerai
Head Sculpt:
Scraps Illusion
Skintone:
Normal
Body:
Scraps
Sex:
Female
  • Face-up artist(s):
    Aimerai (heavily enhanced by me)
    Body blushing artist(s):
    Aimerai
    Date of acquisition:
    2016
    Provenance:
    Purchased new from Fabric, Friends and Dolls
    Reason for choice:
    I desperately wanted an Aimerai Scraps, but sadly didn't discover the sculpt until after it was already sold out. Fortunately FF&D got the re-issued version, Scraps Illusion, as a fullset, and I was able to purchase her! This limited version suited my character needs even better. It was a very happy and magical ending to my quest!
    Best Points:
    Those face patches add so much originality, antiquity and depth of character to this sculpt.
  • Eyes:
    14mm Mako urethane eyes in brown with a purple outer rim
    Wig:
    a faux fiber wig in Aubergine that I deliberately style to be just the right amount of "messy"
    Favourite colours:
    Aubergine of course, although she will wear any color
    Fashion style(s):
    She wears Victorian-inspired gowns
    Key fashion accessory:
    A pearl and cameo necklace. She found it stuck in the workings of the forgotten carousel, and thus believes it to be a romantic gift from her “lover”.
    Aubergine wears whatever bits and pieces of antique fashion she finds in old trunks in the attic where she stays.
  • Name story:
    I named her Aubergine because it's the color of her hair, it's original, and it sounds delightfully French.
    Character age:
    She's well over a century old, from the Victorian era.
    Character gender:
    Female
    Offsite roleplay:
    This doll's character is not available for offsite roleplay.
    Aubergine is a once very valuable and beautiful French clown inspired automaton that was the delight and pride of an affluent Victorian family. But she broke down and fell out of fashion with the times, and was eventually relegated to the attic. She fell madly in love with an old carousel that was also being stored up there, and the depth of that love caused her to become sentient. She has been long forgotten, and spends her time mingling with the other neglected items and lost creatures of the attic, pining away endlessly for her unrequited love...the carousel (which simply exists in its mechanical state, so cannot return her affections.)
