In her lifetime, Branwen was the epitome of kindness and tender understanding. When she came of age she was summoned to serve as a lady-in-waiting to the Sidhe court, where she met Llew. Protective of the gentle soul he saw come alive amongst the children of the court, Llew kept a discreet eye on her and they gradually became friends. When she asked Llew to accept her brother as one of the court's guards, he could not refuse. While the court went to the Beltane fires, Branwen remained to look after the children and Llew remained to head up the skeleton guard around the court and it was over Branwen's small brazier fire that Llew joined their hands and asked her to marry him.
