Brooke's gender is... complicated. Shape-shifting among the Changing Breeds isn't limited to taking on animal forms, and rather playing at being a human or wandering the city as a sleek, black wolf, Brooke has been known to spend time as a male, as a female and as neither, switching from one to the next on a whim. No one is quite sure what Brooke's original gender is. Direct questions on the subject typically get a smirk and a dismissive, "Does it really matter?"

Unlike most garou, who run with a pack of other werewolves, Brooke preferred the company of a rogue Tremere vampire, a Changeling troll and a scruffy Hermetic wizard who was convinced he was the reincarnation of Merlin. They were a strange bunch... But then, Queens in the World of Darkness was a strange town.))
