I might be the only person on DoA to own both Fenris minimes. The DIM one was purchased to become my main protagonist. The tan Nobility Doll one was a pipedream. He was a good price on the MP.

He'll probably moonlight as Fenris.

Chauvelard is a smart dresser. As an official, he's rarely seen on duty in anything less than expensive. Cream or coloured blouses with dark pants and tall boots are a favorite office wear. He wears less vests than other characters.

He is never seen without his rings. Each signifies some important event or achievement.

When he is not at work, he likes to wear his old ranger clothes. Lots of earth tones.

His hair is always messy.

Name story:

Named for Chauvelin from The Scarlet Pimpernel. He also bears some character resemblance to Magneto (X-men).

I needed a bad guy who wasn't as outlandish, yet no less fanatical. My endgame villains were lawful evil... but they weren't relatable. I wanted someone who represented the worst qualities in a faction, but who an audience could still sympathize with.

Previously, all paladin characters had been portrayed as well-balanced, selfless outgoers. But there are worms in every apple. It can take a few bites to find them.

High Administrator Chauvelard seems to have more than a thorn under his skin. A smug high elf with an impeccable reputation, he is the Arcane Council of Skala's affairs management. Have a problem that requires government or militia attention? Send it to Chauvelard.

Of course there is more to him than officialese and titles. He is to paladins what Professor Arkenesis is to magi. A protege in his own right, he founded many techniques of light that theorists have yet to grasp.

He has a particular bias against Drones, as they are the opposite of everything light-based magic teaches. Although he is responsible for sentencing Vríshka to rehabilitation rather than death, the two of them share a potent dislike for one another. Chauvelard will rarely skip an opportunity to nettle the diminutive Drone, and vice versa. Because of this, his relations with the other members of Thaévyn's outpost have declined exponentially.

He's not a very popular fellow in the Keep.

But he is well-meaning. His biggest regret in taking a 'cozy' office job is all the field action he misses out on. Everything he has ever taken on has always been with the intent of helping people. In that sense, he is a true hero.
