I entered one of Soom's end of year lotteries, where you put your name down for a chance to buy dolls that Soom had left over from sales during the year. I was lucky enough to win the chance to buy Migma - Rauco of Sin with both the bat and human forms AND Aenigma - Spider Sprite that year.

Reason for choice:

I had serious regrets when I didn't buy her during her order period.

Name story:

Cynthia picked her human name based on the need to fit in with humans. Her history buff self chose the last name "Clarke" as it was a name given to scholars in the middle ages and she chose "Cynthia" as she loved the link the name has to the old gods of this world.

When thinking about her life in Solithea, Cynthia remembers a hate so strong that she shudders thinking about it. She remembers despising everything about herself that held back her demon side. Love, empathy, fear...all weakness to be cast out. She remembers the ritual, every dark violent minute of it. She tried to remove her human side, her weakness, to fully embrace her demonic powers. Never in her careful planning would she imagine at the end of the ritual, she would be left standing opposite her demon self, weak, crying and afraid. She was supposed to be the strong one, the demon. Why was she the one in this weak, human body?

The demon opposite her raised her hands, evil glee spread across her face.

"No, wait!" The human cried, to no avail. The portal opens and she is sucked through.

Since the portal from the fateful ritual deposited her on Earth, Cynthia has done very well for herself adapting and blending in. The ritual that had torn the half-demon in two hadn't been completely clean, and Cynthia had retained some very minor powers. The first was the ability to glamour, and she kept the appearance of a perfectly normal human over the top of her demonic purple skin constantly. The second was that what ever she needed or desired was offered without hesitation provided it was only something minor or it was agreeable for it to be offered in the first place.

This meant that as long as Cynthia asked many people for very small things they would hardly miss, she never had to go without food or clothing. She also very quickly developed a sweet tooth, with access to all the free chocolate bars from convenience stores she wanted.

Cynthia started working in a bookstore called H.H. & Sons Rare and Curious Booktorium, ran by a Mr. Horatio Humphrey, a very senior widower who agreed to let her rent a room in the apartment above the store (he needed company and someone around to tidy up anyway). It quickly became apparent that Mr. Humphrey did not have any sons, contrary to the name of his store, and that his mind was very quickly escaping his head. Cynthia started helping him with with his taxes and doing his shopping and very soon, just ran the store completely while he snoozed all day in bed. He never once received any visitors.

When she discovered Mr. Humphrey had passed in his sleep one morning, she just buried him in the courtyard behind the store and continued on like nothing had changed. It seemed the easiest course of action. For the one and a half years since his passing, none have come seeking the late Mr. Humphrey.

To this day the only person to have seen through her glamour was her dearest friend Bo. She met him while his friends browsed the various quaint and voluminous tomes, her visage never bothering him in the slightest.
