Dahlia

Maker:
Dollmore
Head Sculpt:
Lusion Dahlia
Skintone:
Dollmore normal
Body:
Dollmore Lusion Body
Sex:
Female
  • Face-up artist(s):
    Dollmore (LE faceup)
    Body blushing artist(s):
    Dollmore (full body blushing and sanding)
    Date of acquisition:
    she arrived 2016
    Provenance:
    (I ordered direct from the company)
    Reason for choice:
    Dollmore's Dahlia is my grail sculpt and their Lusion size is my grail body.
    Best Points:
    Size! I adore her thick limbs and realistically short arms and fingers. Plus, Dollmore did the most amazing job with her body blushing - everything about her seems more lifelike.
    Worst Points:
    I find it difficult having her legs lay straight across the floor in sitting position (it would be easier to position her with her legs dangling off a chair, but I am still looking for a chair simultaneously small enough yet tall enough).
    I left the hobby for many years, but still desiring a Dahlia is what mainly drew me back in. Dahlia has always been my favorite because of her size and her wistful, child-like face sculpt. I knew from the very beginning of my doll collecting hobby, far before I discovered BJDs, that I wanted an extemely large, preferably nearly child-sized, Victorian-style doll. When I saw Royal Floraison on the Dollmore site, I knew I had found my grail.
  • Eyes:
    26mm
    Wig:
    Dollmore (13-14 inch) Forest Sobazu Wig (Chestnut Brown)
    Favourite colours:
    pale pink, white
    Fashion style(s):
    Victorian
    Key fashion accessory:
    her hat :) and Muffy, her teddy bear
    She wears everything in the Royal Floraison full set.

    I will likely switch out the forest sobazu wig for Dollmore's soft cabbage wig, as I feel better fits the Victorian child aesthetic, but curls are finicky and I like moving her around.

    The brand of bear she is holding is called Muffy Vanderbear, which I dressed in clothes of the same brand (sorry, I don't know the outfit name. It came in a huge clothing set I bought from a collector).
  • Name story:
    I always thought I would be calling her "Claudia" once she was mine, after the character from Interview with the Vampire, but I've been wanting to buy "a Dahlia doll" for so many years that I can't shake the habit of calling her "Dahlia" - it's ingrained into my brain now!
    I have also decided that she likely be a permanent brunette, which is another reason I will save the name "Claudia" for my next, to-be-blonde Lusion.
    Offsite roleplay:
    This doll's character is not available for offsite roleplay.
