Name story:

Desideria means the desired one in Latin. First heard of the name in the film The Dragon Ring. She is mostly called Deri though (which might mean oak trees in Welsh).

She is an elf that was disguised as a human via magic and raised by a human woman living at the outskirts of a village near a forest. That woman's newborn baby died and her husband disappeared soon after Deri was found as a baby. The villagers believe those occurrences are proof that she is a witch child.
So Deri grows up sheltered with the forest being more of a home than the village. As then one day her foster mother dies from an illness Desideria is forced to venture into the vast, unfamiliar world to find out who she really is ...
