An ex-Special Forces member, Dietrich has compressed a lot of living into a few years. He's widely-traveled, he can get you to buy him drinks in six or seven languages, and he can use your loose tongue against you as well as kill you with anything from handcuffs to chopsticks if you take umbrage at that...

Or so he says. Even if he's lying, you'd believe it if he told you.

He's seen too much, however, and now he works as a civilian in a role that he won't fully explain to his colleague, the frosty Doctor Berringer. Despite his too-casual attitude, he's concerned that Berringer harbors delusions about their murderous charges that will get them both killed. He wishes he didn't care sometimes, especially when Berringer complains about the antagonism between Dietrich and Ajax.

He won't make nice with Ajax. He knows a killer when he sees one, and he won't acknowledge whatever shred of humanity Berringer thinks he sees in Ajax.
