Reason for choice:

The Hyun Un sculpt was always one that I liked. When I saw Soom was discontinuing their Gem dolls I had to get him before he was gone. I only got his head as I wasn't sure that I wanted him on the Gem body at the time.

Best Points:

His nose and eyes are perfect for Dmitri

Worst Points:

The FDoll body combined with the Soom head means that his head does not pose properly. He has very little movement. I tried putting a Luts donut inside and it does work but it gets in the way of the headcap when I put it on. I'm going to experiment with making a donut or lift system to give him a better range of motion.

After a traumatic 'accident' in childhood Dmitri was left mostly blind and scarred. While his father had been away on business his mother -a cold and cruel woman prone to abuse- had thrown a vase at him. The glass caused him to lose most of his vision save for the ability to tell the difference between light and dark.

He had always been a quiet, well-mannered child but after the incident he became withdrawn, obedient, and almost silent. He became overly polite and apologetic, not opening up much to others. He put up with his mother's cruelty in silence until he met his best friend (Min Jun) whom he sees once every few months.

His family is wealthy and he goes to private school and though he hates spending time with his mother he takes any opportunity to go to South Korea with her. He keeps quiet about her abusive nature to everyone but Min Jun and often acts clumsy to play off injuries which is easy to believe since he is blind.

He is very affectionate with his father and anytime he's home he spends time with him, playing piano and reading from braille books to his father.

Overall he is a dutiful son and does his best to simply fade into the background if possible.
