Dots is a fairy, known as 'imaginary friend' by humans.
Kids can summon fairies to make them company and they can 'control' how the fairies look using their imagination, they just need to know the fairy's name!
Dots is kinda out of control, since she never said her real name to any human (her nickname Dots is based on the fact that she LOVES dot printed stuff ). She likes to change how she looks based on how she's feeling, always using a lot of colors (and some lack of fashion sense)

Every imaginary friend has a bell/rattle (or something they can shake to make sound) as a guide to travel through the fairy world and the human world.
Dots has a terrible sense of direction, so she's always carrying a lot of noisy stuff around her neck.
