Reason for choice:

The limited "tanning" version of Lati Blue Rucas fit perfectly with the mental image I had for Douban's character.

Best Points:

His mobility is the best out of all my dolls because of his double-joints. Also I adore all his muscles and the details in his hands and feet. The tan color of his resin is nearly perfect and even.

Worst Points:

I don't like the fact that he has no torso joint. Also his size is unusual for an MSD, which make it difficult to find clothes for him. I have to alter all my sewing patterns to fit his measurements.

Name story:

Douban was named after a character from the Arabian Nights who was also a doctor. Ahmed is random Middle-eastern name that I just happen to like. Al-Razi is the surname of a famous historical Persian doctor.

Douban was once an actual human doctor who became like an older brother to Lydia after he found her and saved her from committing suicide. He was mortally wounded after helping Lydia escape from a band of misdirected vampire hunters. After he died, Douban's memory became a seperate entity in Lydia's head--a "split personality" that enabled her to cope with his death. Douban was "resurrected" when Xander's family in Greece built an android replica of his body (based on Lydia's sketches of him from memory), and then "uploaded" the mental entity through a device that connected Lydia's brain to the android's OS. Once the procedure was complete, Lydia was free from her split personality and finally had the closest thing to getting her brother back.

Android Douban has a glitch in his system that causes him to randomly go into "sleep mode" at any given moment. This was a side effect from the narcolepsy he suffered from as a human. He also only speaks Farsi and German fluently, and struggles with learning English.
