Bought his head new (old stock) from JunkySpot. Bought his body secondhand from the DoA marketplace.

Reason for choice:

I already had a DZ Yuu-2 who sometimes cosplays Mugen from Samurai Champloo, and loved the sculpt. For some reason, I wanted another one in normal skin who could possibly cosplay Spike from Cowboy Bebop. Spike was the inspiration for the faceup.

Best Points:

His sculpt, faceup and body are perfect for his character. I love the lanky limbs and lean elegance of the original DZ b70-001 body.

Worst Points:

None. And he would agree with me.

Eyes:

Souldoll Premium. They're sort of greyish, but when he wears blue, they look blue.

Wig:

Classic Majesty in black.

Favourite colours:

Preferably royal blue. Also black.

Fashion style(s):

Casual, sometimes edgy. He likes to cut the sleeves off his t-shirts to show his arms. Also likes to wear tight trousers and jeans to emphasize his long legs. His preferred footwear is boots.

Key fashion accessory:

Something blue. He occasionally likes silver jewelry.

Duke is sure that every piece of 70cm male clothing that comes into the house is for him. He's my only BJD who does this! And he hates cosplaying. He makes it quite clear he doesn't like being forced to dress up. I'm pretty sure he can't stand being anyone other than himself.

Name story:

I was joking with a friend that I should name him Duke, because the character of Rimmer from Red Dwarf always tells people his nickname is Duke when it isn't. And the name stuck. Later on, I gave him the real first name of Duncan, but no one calls him that except his older brother. His last name already existed, because I had his older brother as a doll and character first. I decided Duke badly needed a conscience, but he didn't have one of his own, so I gave him an older brother instead!

Duke is the drummer in my BJD rock band. I never had a doll that inspired me to make them a musician, but Duke's character reminds me of some real drummers I know, so he was a natural fit. He inspired me to create more musicians to be his friends and bandmates. He's handsome, moody, funny, sarcastic, charming, a little vain, and extremely talented and dedicated as a musician. He is an excellent singer and has perfect pitch, but drumming is his only real passion. He's also a mooch, and almost always thinks of himself first. But he doesn't do it with bad intentions, he's just a little self-centered because he's young. If someone points out to him that he is being thoughtless, he will usually understand and apologize, or change what he's doing right away. But that doesn't mean he won't sulk about it a little! His older brother, Trevor, is a Volks Link, and is one of my oldest characters. Trevor acts as Duke's conscience most of the time. Duke has never had a long term girlfriend, and he doesn't date exclusively, but he always tells girls that before he starts dating them. They usually end up dumping him first, anyway. He works part time as a bartender, which he does very well. He's basically a simple guy, and not very bright or perceptive sometimes. He definitely sees things in black and white.
