Echo is a Reaping angel of the Lord, with the power to shape-shift into a one-eyed raven. She uses this single eye, when appearing before dying humans at their last breaths, to create hallucinations in her subjects' minds before she reaps them to either comfort or cause them pain before death.

If a human is virtuous, she shows them visions of their wishes being granted, putting their souls at peace before she reaps them. If the subject's soul is sinful, she shows them nightmarish visions of their dreams being crushed and destroyed.

She is a devoted servant to her Lord and works hard to carry out His orders to the best of her abilities – but not out of love or reverence of Him. She does so out of fear of facing what happened to her dear brother, Vilis, if she dare disobey. She secretly resents her Creator and dreams of escaping and finding her lost brother, but is terrified of meeting the same terrible fate as his. Will she one day gather the courage to rebel against her Maker and reunite with Vilis, or keep her head bowed and let her dear brother wander the mortal world, alone and forsaken, forever?
