Reason for choice:

Originally, he was meant to be a different character, Fingon's son, Ereinion Gil-galad, but his face shape didn't work out and I'd tried to sell him afterward, but nobody was interested, so I painted him up to see if he could be Elendae. It worked, for the most part.

Elendae is the lead singer in a rock band, so he tries to emulate that in almost everything that he does. He's a leather pants and boots kind of guy, or a pair of pants with too many pockets.

Name story:

Elendae Narel used to be Elendae Nersil, hence my screen name. Elendae means "Star's shadow" and Narel means "Fire star", which I found more fitting than "silver man".

Elendae was an orphaned child dropped on Fingolfin’s doorstep, because out of all the sons of Finwe, Fingolfin was the most compassionate and the most likely to take in a child of unknown origins. Elendae knew from the start that he didn’t belong to any of them, because while he did sort of resemble Fingolfin, he also really didn’t. Dark hair was a trait than ran hot in the family, but red eyes were not, and therefore, there was no way he could belong to any of them.

Then Elendae met Mairon. It was an accidental meeting, as Elendae was not even supposed to be in that part of Tirion at the time, however, his aunt had asked him to go find his uncle, Feanor, and, if the entire story isn’t enough proof, all unfortunate things lead back to Feanor.

Mairon was different. He had dark hair, and molten-golden eyes, and that was enough to be convinced that this had to be his correct parent. To be absolutely honest, Mairon was rather surprised too, as he was decently sure that he’d never had any relationships with elves to produce a child. Perhaps he’d been drunk and accidentally wandered away from Utumno and… nope. Mairon could never remember being that drunk.

To say the least: Elendae has no real idea where he comes from or whose child he is, only that he was raised by Fingolfin and his wife Anarie. When Feanor loses the Silmarils to Melkor, Elendae follows his adoptive father and the rest of their family to Endor, hoping to perhaps discover who his parents are and the reasons behind his bizarre physical appearance.

Later on in Chronicles of Tirion, he has still figured nothing out about himself or where he comes from, though he has seen much of Ossiriand and made a great deal of friends, as well as enemies. He spends much time in Imladris, as Elrond and was known to be the Greatest Loremaster in Middle Earth, he hopes that perhaps he can find out something there.

During his stay in Imladris, Elrond and Glorfindel are called away to help Galadriel destroy Dol Guldor, one of the fortresses of Sauron. Though at this point, Elendae is pretty decently certain that Sauron is not actually related to him in any way, he tags along for extra support, seeing as making things explode is pretty much what he’s good at. While in Mirkwood, he ends up meeting Thranduil’s master healer, a plucky Avar named Galadhen.

They can’t stand each other. Galadhen feels that Elendae is an arrogant prick and Elendae feels that Galadhen is a stuck-up prude. Needless to say, with the help of some of Thranduil’s Miruvor and Elladan and Elrohir, the two of them wake up naked in bed next to each other, not at all remembering what happened.
