Reason for choice:

Narrow eyes, a prominent nose, and just the slightest hint of a smirk; how could I resist? His sculpt has all the little details I just fall head-over-heels over.

Best Points:

He came very tightly strung, and it suits him well; he can hold a variety of poses without sueding. His face sculpt is to die for, and the resin tone, while extremely pink to begin with, has mellowed out to a more natural peachy color.

Worst Points:

His fingers are a little... cylindrical, for lack of a better word, and the pinky finger of his right hand keeps breaking off. He also has a butt that's hard to sew pants for, but that might just be a reflection of my skill as a seamstress (next to none).

Mystic Kids is a great company for first-time doll owners, offering beautiful sculpts on the cheaper end of the scale. I did a lot of research shopping for the BJD that would eventually launch me head-on into the hobby, and I ended up at Alice's Collections, staring down the MK Lawrence and marveling at all his features. I can still just spend a long time just looking at him, even though he's tried to give me trouble by chipping his faceup, breaking his fingers, and losing his wig. I love him all the same. ♥

Honestly, Zeke's style seems to change a lot for me. One moment he's looking hot as hell in a red and black t-shirt with chains on his jeans, and the next moment he's relaxed and comfortable in red flannel and a plain taupe tee. Whatever he wears, it seems, he flaunts it.

Name story:

I wanted to give him a name related to heaven, to cement the irony of his sore feelings toward the gods of his world. Ezekiel is not only an angel's name, but also works really well as an everyday guy's name when shortened to Zeke.

The gods have never cooperated, not as long as any of their worshipers can remember. This time, though, their disagreement is on the scale of war, and they have begun choosing human "pawns" to do their fighting for them down on Earth.

Ezekiel is a mortal boy chosen by the God of Eternal Flame to strike down any opposition. He can bend the force of fire to his will, but only when in range of another hapless Chosen mortal. Rather than follow this path any further, Zeke has determined that the best way out would be to become a god himself.

That was his first mistake.
