Reason for choice:

I fell in love with the faceup. It looked so delicate in the photos and the white eyelashes were epic!

Best Points:

The gorgeous faceup and the shape of the sculpt. DC Erica is much more beautiful in person than I anticipated.

Worst Points:

Part of the faceup on the lip looks more like a bit of smudge.

Francis James is the son of a single father, and his mom died in a car accident when he was two. His father is a bone surgeon with the military and is often sent to different army bases every few months. Francis, from the time he was born to age 14, travelled with him and lived the life of an army brat. Francis, who always looked very small, frail, and feminine, was often looked down upon by the other army children and even occasionally bullied, though his father's status kept the bullying low-key. Because of this, outside of mandated outings and classes, Francis preferred to stay in his house and spent his time housekeeping, sewing, drawing, and reading.

When Francis was 14, his father decided to send him to his sister so that Francis could enter a regular highschool. This highschool had a very active drama club and it was here that Francis discovered a love for performing and singing. His ability to sew and construct garments had him a permanent place in wardrobe.

Against his father's wishes with the support of his aunt, Francis chose to study theatre and fashion, taking online courses whenever he could. He discovered goth fashion and fell in love with the elaborate costumes and dramatic looks and began to construct garments like that for himself. His primary point of reference was the Japanese Goth Dandy look.

Initially, Francis made his clothes for men and started photoblogging himself in the clothes. Wanting to up the drama factor, he got into the makeup. Then he tried on a Lolita dress on a whim on his 18th birthday, and never looked back.

Francis developed the habit of dressing in a Gothic Lolita / Gothic Dandy look on weekends and hanging out in the touristy parts of the city. He became known as a street performer and he started earning money when tourists and locals would tip him so they can take a picture with him. It was actually while he did this that he noticed Hadrian, who would set up close to him and begin playing cover songs with his cello. Francis made the effort to learn the guitar and approached Hadrian, and the two eventually formed their own street band. Their band became Grimm's Faerys, and he chose the name Absinthe since he was singer and face of the band.
