He looked at him then, taken aback by the strange question that hung heavy like smoke in the air.


"Well?"

"I... I guess it depends."​

John smiled a tight smile, and his eyes narrowed with it; cold, serpentine slits, harsher than emeralds.​

"On reasons? yes. Which is why I'll forgive you for the things you're about to do. For me. And for this town. We are going to give Hooksett a bath, Negan, and wash it clean from all its sins." .



John Haddox moved to the small, sleepy town of Hooksett 5 years ago. The following year, he ran for the position of Town Mayor, and overwhelmingly won. "There is only one way forward, and that is up," he announced to the crowd, with his index finger pointed upwards to blue heavens above. And John kept his promise. Hooksett won every single town competition to date, and even got a photo blown up on the Millenium News's cover spread. The town's success even managed to mask the disappearances that happens every year at Hooksett. People began to go missing in the dark, leaving no trace behind. Some say maybe the town simply got too big for them, while others whisper about something possibly far more sinister. .​

Nobody knows anything John Haddox, except that he is filthy rich. He has a picturesque house with a lovely poster family. Those who knew him said he's admirable, and those he met always seem to remember his emerald green eyes; all somber, probing, and almost too sly. Bentley thinks he is hiding something; the disappearances began shortly after the man took a seat in the Council. Or maybe it was all just a coincidence. After all, a Church going, respectable father wouldn't do anything terrible, wouldn't he? The leather on his shoes also has Biblical prayers etched on to them. Now, isn't that funny?​
