Danchu is designed to keep traditional elements of korean fashion while not being completely old school. Conforms more to korean mmmorpg style costumes, where elements of Choseon and three kingdoms period heavily influence more modern cuts. Her makeup is inspired by various birds, with the three red dots of a traditional korean wedding ceremony.

Name story:

Danchu's actual name means "Brilliant Jade", but her friends call her Danchu ("buttons") because she's obsessed with making sure buttons are sewn on properly to avoid the pain of losing one and having to mismatch.

Danchu is an orphan whose family fell to the assassinations of a formidable political opponent of the previous crown. Formerly a carefree girl from a yangbang scholar class, Danchu was forced to hide away in plain sight as a court shaman. Due to her background, she is accomplished in many arts and humanities, but falls short in spiritual powers. Consistently the worst shaman apprentice, Danchu is often delegated menial tasks, which she completes with happy ease. Despite her lack of spiritual powers, she does not give up trying to became the chief shaman to restore some status and power back to her family name. She quickly befriended princess Eunmi who requested that Danchu be a decoy during her wedding so she could runaway from an old and disappointing fiance. Danchu agreed, seeing it as a chance to get close to a high court official; on wedding day, the girls swapped places. However, Danchu’s palanquin was raided by the hitman Yoon, who had been assigned to assassinate Eunmi. Once Yoon realized Danchu was not the target, he offered to run away with Danchu. Unfortunately, Seongki jumped into the fray before anyone can explain and clashed swords with Yoon. The three fell into a wormhole to the future, sliced open by the two bimbos' swords and ushered along by Danchu’s puny spiritual powers.

In the future, Danchu’s expertise in ancient arts and ware impressed Miri enough to give Danchu a curator job at the arts museum. She lives with Yoon and Seong-ki, with free maid service provided by Yoon b/c he felt guilty about ambushing her.

Danchu is deceptively nice and dainty but she’ll do anything to restore glory to her family, even in the future. She is hyper competitive and will pretty much enter any contest.
