Provenance:

Ichigo was purchased by me through a shopping service, one Ria_Ria who would regularly made trips to the Volks Sato store. I have all of his papers in his Volks box. He also has his numbered headplate.

Reason for choice:

I loved the face as soon as I saw it in owner photos. Once I discovered that I could purchase one through a shopping service I sold the body of my first doll to put down a deposit on him.

Best Points:

I love how the body can hold a pose even when the stringing is floppy from play. I also love the little subtle details like the shape of the bellybutton, and the unique hands that Tsubaki has, which are different from standard MSD hands.

Worst Points:

Single joint posing makes the body not as poseable as some other dolls.

When I started making his wardrobe in 2006, I didn't know there was a name for this style. While Ichigo is an Angel, I always strove for a wardrobe without gender rules, and dressed him as a young teen.

Name story:

I wanted my first Japanese doll to have a Japanese name, so I looked through names and combinations until I found Ichigo Tsuki, which I believe translates to Strawberry Moon.

Ichigo's character has morphed and firmed up over the years into an Angel who for reasons unknown likes to spend his time on Earth, playing at being a Human male child. He tends to vary in appearance as he shifts through time, un-aging.

Most of the time, Ichigo appears to be a blue-eyed blonde, but if he is living in an area or time when unusual hair colors are not uncommon he will change his appearance to a more colorful look, with blue or pink hair.

There are a rare few individuals who always see him in his "natural" form, which is with rainbow eyes, and lightly glowing skin. His wings don't appear to be present, but it is unknown if he has lost them and that is why he is on Earth for so long, or if he just doesn't have wings YET.

He is dodgy about his background, and tends not to tell people except for the child he has chosen as his new "best friend" that he is anything other than a normal human being, and even then he will sometimes just fade out of their lives as they age and he doesn't, rather than answering questions.
Ichigo does not discuss how Angels work or where he came from at all.
