1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

  • Face-up artist(s):
    Nyo Denyo
    Date of acquisition:
    October 28, 2018
    Provenance:
I purchased this doll at LDoll 2018 directly from Dust of Dolls.
    Reason for choice:
Gosh... She caught my breath right away! I've also always admired @Kestrelohara's beautiful Cham girl, who has a different sculpt but is equally beautiful to Cham Byöl.
    Best Points:
I love her skintone, the shape of her face, the sweet ears. She looks beautifully slender with her long limbs.
    Worst Points:
I dislike the balls that connect her legs to her torso. They twist easily which makes it annoying to make her stand. If one ball turns the other way it makes her legs of different lengths. The tunnels in her legs are also a bit too narrow for wiring, which makes it tricky to solve this problem.
*** This was written on the day after I got this doll, the miracle story of how this doll came into my possession!***

Wow, I still can't believe this doll is mine. It is a small miracle that I was able to get her. I'm so thankful to @Cosmosdolls and @Benjaminbenchan and still feel tears behind my eyes every time I think of the experience... oh my gosh. It's hard to put everything that happened into words, but I will try! Wall of text coming up!

So, quickly after arriving at LDoll I fell in love with Dust of Dolls Cham Byol. There were only 10 available, five of which were to be sold on the first day, and the other five on the second day. I queued up on the first day but missed out on her by a hair, the person in front of me sadly got the last one that was available on that day. With good spirits I went to the convention center on the second day too, and I was one of the first people to enter the hall so I could get in line for one of the dolls right away. However, when I got to the booth, there were already many people waiting in the line, who had been able to get into the hall before the halls opened for visitors. And to my devastation I soon found out that the line mostly consisted of the exact same people who had been waiting in the line on Saturday, and who had already purchased a Cham the day before! I soon learned that the first five people in line were all waiting to get a Cham and that my chance was 0%. I decided to stay in the queue anyway and settle for Appi Korë instead, who also was very cute, but not who I had fallen in love with. My friend @Benjaminbenchan and I talked for a while and we both thought it was super unfair, but DoD of course couldn't change their policy halfway through. I felt cheated and sad and angry and confused all at the same time. A little while later, the girl who was first in the line (@cosmosdolls) walked up to me, and she said: "I heard your story and I want to tell you, don't worry, I'm queueing for you. I already got my grail doll, DoD Doom Edda, yesterday, and while I really want to have a Cham, I think what is going on is not fair so I want you to have my ticket." I didn't know her at all, and she decided to give me her Cham! I couldn't believe it, still can't actually, but that's what happened. I literally hugged her a million times, and tried to find ways to thank her or do something in return but she kept on saying "It's okay, I'm queueing for you". Oh man. In the end everyone was all crying and hugging at the booth and also the DoD staff was super happy that I was able to get my Cham. It was a very strange emotional rest of the day, and an exhausting trip home, but I'm over the moon and will do everything in my power to honor this doll and make her the most beautiful best version that I can. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart @Cosmosdolls for helping me get my dreamdoll, and thank you @Benjaminbenchan for telling my story, and thank you @Dustofdolls for making amazing beautiful dolls that inspire me so. <3 <3 <3
  • Eyes:
Dust of Dolls resin eyes made by Lylypie that came with her fullset.
    Wig:
    Handmade alpaca wig
  • Name story:
My first intention for this doll was to turn her into an Inuit-styled girl, based on the Cryomancer class from the game Tree of Savior. I wanted to find a nice Inuit name for her, and Ikki is the Inuit word for cold. It's also the name of one of the characters in Legend of Korra and sounds very sweet.
    Character gender:
    Female
    Offsite roleplay:
This doll's character is not available for offsite roleplay.
