    February 2017
    Provenance:
Bought new from Dollzone through Alice's Collections
    Reason for choice:
Those precious teeth! Carter is probably my favorite sculpt of all time.
    Best Points:
His adorable teeth and face in general~
    Worst Points:
The 009 body has huge hips, so no regular MSD clothes fit him. It's really annoying.
  • Eyes:
Green and brown 14mm resin from Stacy's Pink Ocean
    Wig:
FW038 in Grey from Alice's Collections (Temporary)
    Favourite colours:
    All colors!
    Fashion style(s):
Modern Ilya - Anything that fits on his body; Ilya is totally eclectic with his dressing. He'll wear anything he thinks is cool. (Those things are often not cool at all...)
Tribal Ilya - Leather, fur, shells, wooden beads; anything his clan can find to make clothes in the Arctic.
Ilya has two main clothing styles: the clothes he wears with his clan, and the modern clothes he wears when he's with his family.

Ilya (later Ilya Spire) is a selkie, which is a mythical creature that can transform into a seal...or, more accurately, it's a seal that can transform into a human. When a selkie transforms, they produce a seal pelt that they must keep track of. If a pelt is lost or stolen, they can't change back into their original seal form, and they are often ostracized from their clan (or at least seen as weird and undesirable). [I don't think that last bit is in any of the selkie myths or anything; I'm giving myself some leeway in developing their culture because I love world-building.]

Ilya was attacked by hunters at around age twelve. Unsure of how to protect himself, he transformed into a human; the hunters, confused and scared, grabbed his pelt and ran, leaving Ilya to die in the snow. He was picked up by a pair of anthropologists studying cultures of the Arctic, who got him to a hospital in time to save his life. Weak and mortified that he had lost his pelt, Ilya agreed to go home with the couple, who later find out what Ilya is. After living with the couple at their Seattle home for nearly three years, they adopt Ilya and go back to the Arctic to help Ilya reunite with his two brothers: his twin, Nikos, and his younger brother Sylvan.

Ilya is generally happy-go-lucky and loves sports, especially soccer; however, he's far too uncoordinated in the legs for any extensive running, but his excellent reflexes and hand/eye coordination make him a great goalkeeper. He played soccer through middle school and now high school. He enjoys traveling and hamburgers.
