1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

  • Face-up artist(s):

    Date of acquisition:
    February 2018
    Provenance:
I am the 4th owner of this doll, and he came with all of his paperwork. He's been on a long journey!
    Reason for choice:
This doll was originally purchased as a gift for a friend, but we had a falling-out before I finished paying the layaway. After I received him in the mail, I fell in love! He has been a wonderful doll to have ever since, and I couldn't be happier to call him mine.
    Best Points:
The sculpting is very appealing and cute, his legs pose like a dream and he sits and slouches pretty well! He has one of my all time favorite face sculpts, which is a feat because of how horribly picky I am with faces.
    Worst Points:
The hands are very large and the elbow peanuts give me some trouble with posing. The torso is pretty long to me, but that's because I'm partial to very long legged dolls. He also arrived missing one elf ear piece.

Jupet's wardrobe is inspired by historical garments with a fantasy twist, starting from various times and places through history.
  • Name story:
I named him "Jupet" because it sounds similar to Geppetto (Pinocchio, doll things, etc.) and I wanted his name to have something to do with him being a doll. It was originally a placeholder name, but it really stuck!
His name from his previous owner was Miles!
    Character age:
    Young Adult
    Character gender:
    Male/Ambiguous
    Offsite roleplay:
This doll's character is not available for offsite roleplay.
Jupet's character is as a living life-size doll in a fantasy setting. After having him for years, I decided to bring his character into a DND campaign and play him as a re-skinned warforged! Bringing him into that game has really kickstarted my want to customize him fully, and I now have a ton of ideas for things I want to make for him in the future.

In his story, Jupet is a human-sized doll masquerading as an elf with the aid of a magical item that masks his doll-like features. As an animated creation made by a trio of hags he refers to as his aunts, he travels the mortal world with a carriage and his mule Lampwick making deliveries of magical items and collecting supplies to bring back home to the feywild. He has a level of free will and childlike wonder that his aunts never truly intended to give him, and it has lead him on a journey of discovering what really defines being a person.

Jupet is the second living doll crafted by his aunts, the first being his "cousin" Oliver, who I would love to someday recreate as a BJD too. Oliver was created several hundred years before Jupet, and doesn't experience the same level of free will that Jupet came to have. They will occasionally cross paths at home or on the road, and Jupet is always very excited to see him.
