Reason for choice:

Adorable face and my love for Volks! And I hadn't known about the SDC line until I came across a few in the MP. I love it.

Best Points:

-Gorgeous face
-Cute body sculpting
-Solid posing with good amount of friction
-Knees bend pretty far despite being single-jointed

Worst Points:

-The suwarikko joints don't work as well as I had hoped they would (they aren't really "bad" though)
-Very limited side-to-side movement of the head (although up-and-down motion is very good)

Name story:

"Kalinka" is the name of a famous Russian song and is the Russian word for the snowball tree (Viburnum opulus). I just think it's cute and catchy sounding and this doll's character is Russian!

Younger sister to Katya, my Volks KyoTenshi Shiratori. They are Russian immigrants and are the closest friends of Dmitri and his family, who immigrated first and helped Kalinka's family to do the same.
Kalinka seems sweet and shy at first, an eclectic counterpart to her excitable, impulsive older sister. However, she has more in common with Katya than she would like to admit. While Katya wears her occult obsession on her sleeve, Kalinka, a self-conscious high schooler, is less open about their shared interest. The sisters are the reason Dmitri is forced to come to terms with his paranormal "issues" and general happenings, though he is reluctant.
