Being the favorite child of a successful family carries many burdens and pressures. as a teenager he seemed to rebel a lot against his family which lead him down a destructive path or drugs and alcohol. his way of trying to calm the burden becomes a huge mistake, he looses the "love of his life" to a car accident (most likely cause by him) and his family (having the power of money on their side) covers the whole thing up but tell him he needs to get his life on track on his own since he is now an "embarrassment" to the family (instead of helping him ), they send him off to the world with hardly anything in hand. he resorts to whatever he can to get around while also trying to deal with all his guild, depression and addiction.

He starts to frequent a small cafe close to the shelter he is sometimes able to stay in (his twin brother secretly gives him a handout from time to time for food, etc). the cafe is usually empty early mornings and the price is at his budget so he keeps coming in, sitting at the far right corner by himself, orders the same thing every day, a plain bagel with cream cheese and tea. He becomes acquainted with the waitress who is the owners Daughter Samara, who seemed to always be there, she would always treat him with a kind smile and would sometimes sit with him to chat or in silence is he was not in the mood for it that day, just for company. she discovers of his current situation and offers to help him by offering a job helping out in the mornings at the cafe. at first he did not want to accept, because he did not want to be a burden but she insisted and he could not say no to her for some reason and to be honest he really needed the help. He keeps to himself and is not very talkative but is very courteous and polite (also helped having someone as tall as him to help with storing and inventory). Samara begins to sneak him in at night so he has a place to stay and shower (their house is right above the Cafe). he sleeps in a futon on the floor, but its better than the streets or the shelter. they think they are being sneaky but her mother knew, she formally asked him to stay with them, she knew her daughter had developed feeling for him.

2 years pass and he decides to propose to her, the woman who had opened her home and heart to him when he needed it the most. she accepts but she is interested in meeting his family, which he becomes a bit silent about since seeing them would bring back bad memories he would rather not relive. but people do crazy things for love so he accepts. they meet his family and they received them with indifference and see Samara as a "gold digger". the stress of being around his family gets to him and he decides its time to go, but before that he speaks his mind and feels big relief as they left that house. His family had a rude awakening when his grandfather (who is still the man in charge of everything, even the money) is infuriated when he finds out they let him go and discover how they treated him, he says he has never been so ashamed of his family before and that money had blinded them all. So he reached out to Keivin and begs him to come back, he want to right the wrongs his parent had done.

Grandfather was so grateful to Samara and her family that he decided to put her through school and offer her a job as soon as she was done. Keivin went back to finish school as well, as he was to take over him in the time of his passing.
